Returns and Product issues


Can I return items?

If you're not totally satisfied you can return products within 365 days. We will give you a full refund by the same method as your original payment for products that are returned with proof of purchase in new and unused condition and, if possible, the packaging. You can return any product, even if you assembled it, as long as it's in re-saleable condition. Unless faulty, we may refuse the return or offer an exchange or gift card only if the returns criteria are not fully met. 
 

If you purchased online you may take your items back to any IKEA store in Ireland or the UK, including our Order and Collection points. Alternatively you may arrange collection of your online purchase by contacting usSee our Returns Policy for more information.


There seems to be a mistake on my receipt from the store. What should I do?

Please return to the store with your receipt and we can investigate this for you. If you are unable to return to the store please contact us.


Can I return a mattress?

Unless faulty, you may only return a mattress for a refund within 365 days if the packaging is still on the mattress and unopened. We do understand that it takes time for you and your new mattress to get used to each other. That’s why we give you 90 days to be sure you’re compatible. If the chemistry isn’t right, simply come back and choose another mattress. You may exchange your mattress once within 90 days under our Love it or exchange it offer.


Can I return a made to order product?

Goods made to order can be cancelled or returned unaltered at any time within 365 days of purchase the same as any other product. Return unused items in their original packaging, together with your till receipt or a copy of your online order confirmation email, for a full refund or exchange. See our Returns Policy.


Can I return goods I have opened or assembled?

Items can be returned to the store with your original receipt, but should be disassembled. Depending on the condition of the items the value and method of refund would be at the discretion of the store.


Can a different account be credited with a refund?

A refund has to be made to the original card used for payment. In the event that you are unable to access this account we may refund to a gift card.


Do you provide extra or replacement fittings?

As long as the fittings have a 6 digit code in the assembly instructions, we can arrange for these to be posted directly to you free of charge. Order fittings and spare parts. If you no longer have the assembly instructions, copies can be found on the product page, see here for information on how to find them. For older products please contact us and we will do our best to locate them for you.


I’m missing part of a product I’ve just purchased.

Please take your receipt and copy of the assembly guide showing the piece that is missing to the store and we will replace this for you, if this part has a 6 digit code on the assembly guide we can arrange for these to be posted directly to you free of charge. Order fittings and spare parts.


The product I’ve purchased has a faulty or damaged part.

You only need to take the faulty part to the store with your receipt and we will exchange this for you. Alternatively you may return the whole product for a replacement or full refund. If you damaged the product yourself during assembly or when transporting the product home, and you swiped your IKEA FAMILY card at the till, you may be covered by IKEA FAMILY card insurance.*

*Does not apply to Bargain Corner purchases or online orders.

Missing Assembly Instructions

Copies can be found on the product page online. See here for information on how to find them. If you are unable to locate the assembly instructions, please contact us with information about the product or if possible email us pictures of the product and we will do our best to locate them for you.


Faulty items, under guarantee

IKEA offers a generous guarantee policy. Guarantees can be found in the back of the catalogue or by clicking here If you do notice a problem with any product within the first year of purchase or within the full guarantee period*, please return the item to store or email pictures and a description of the fault. Please include proof of the original purchase from IKEA.

*Please note that appliances purchased in the Bargain Corner (“As is” corner) in store are covered by a 1 year guarantee only.
