The KÅSEBERGA collection

High vibes, low impact!

In celebration of World Oceans Day, here's the story of a special collection that connected sustainable living with an active lifestyle – inspired by surfers!

From the wave-riders to the toe dippers, the dog walkers to the sun worshippers: the KÅSEBERGA collection was made for everyone who loves the ocean and wants to look after it. Created together with the World Surf League (WSL), the collection's 26 products were made from renewable and recycled materials to help reduce the plastic waste that ends up in our oceans.

Surfers from around the world were involved in co-creating the KÅSEBERGA collection.

40 million

The number of active surfers around the world today.

More than a third of the people on earth depend on the ocean for their livelihoods.

The WSL has been the global home of surfing for more than four decades.

More waves, less waste

By working together, IKEA and the WSL hoped to inspire people to help fight plastic pollution, and choose renewable and recycled materials wherever possible. Watch to see more of how the KÅSEBERGA collection came to life.
