Poor Precision and Frustrating AssemblyAnonymous reviewerI bought the VESKEN rectangular shelf unit back in 2022 (made in Italy), and it was a straightforward, easy-to-assemble product. So when I needed a corner shelf, I figured the VESKEN corner shelf unit would be a safe bet. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.
The corner shelf unit, from production batch 2024 08 (made in China), was incredibly frustrating to assemble. The plastic pieces don’t align properly, and I had to use a hammer just to force them together. It’s nothing like the precision and ease of the older rectangular unit. I can’t help but think they’ve either changed the mold or switched to a different manufacturer, and it’s resulted in poor quality.
This shelf may look similar to the old one, but the experience of putting it together was night and day. 1

Not up to Ikea's usual standardAnonymous reviewerWhen I finally received this delivery (it had been left at an address half a mile away from me) I was pleased to see the design - the right size, measurements and shape. BUT it relied on a press fit for various parts and the pressure needed led to my son breaking one leg. A great shame. But it was only a small item and taking into account the wrong delivery it was not worth my while exchanging.
I have had a number of various items of furniture from Ikea which have been excellent and I shall certainly hope to order from them again.2
