White Sticker Packaging - what a nightmare!Anonymous reviewerNot worth your money because ... the cork mat and (with hindsight) the packaging e.g. the label is terrible because the label is sticky on both sides and difficult to remove cleanly. It leaves a residue that also (slightly) removes the surface finish and changes the texture. With more than 13 complaints, one might assume that the packaging would be changed e.g. only put one/two small adhesive patches on the back and rely on the shape of the label to keep it in place - job done and probably saves money, too!1
Used for pet matsAnonymous reviewerI have used this for using as pet food and water mats and they work a treat 5
Such a great buyAnonymous reviewerWonderful cork mat that improves my workspace. Perfect surface to write on and great for the mouse.5
Ideal Anonymous reviewerJust want we needed4
Amazing Mat, Annoying Sticker!!Anonymous reviewerI use these mats for crafts and it is vital to be able to remove the adhesive sticker. I have used soap, brush, sponge, rubbing alcohol, nothing gets the annoying label off wiped clean. The mat itself is amazing, but please IKEA, fix the label everyone is complaining about!!2
Love the material - easily tearsAnonymous reviewernice product. just feels a little thin and too easily tears. 2
NiceAnonymous reviewerI am still trying to instal it but it is what I need for my atelier, it can be use in many ways.5
Sticker doesn’t come off cleanly Anonymous reviewerLabelled with a strong adhesive which makes sticker very hard to remove and leaves residue. 1
its a nice matt - but the dumb sticker!?Anonymous reviewerCork mat, very nice. Well done. Sticker that goes on the corner....???? Are you kidding me. 48 mins later - and still not been able to remove it all..... it breaks apart, is for some reason made from some kind of glue that I assume NASA invented, and on the bits you do get off, it leaves a sticky mark on the cork mat. So you know... well done there. 1
Nice mat. Bad sticker.Anonymous reviewerIKEA seem to specialise in sticky labels that are impossible to remove.4
Cannot wipe off sticker labelAnonymous reviewerDespite what ikea is responding to the posts complaining about the sticker leaving a mark. You cannot wipe this off with a damp cloth. I've tried. I guarantee everyone who's had the same issue has tried to wipe it with a damp cloth. Not only will the residue not come off, removing the sticker does damage the Cork. Very annoying ikea won't take responsibility for using the wrong type of glue on this product. 1
Ruined by product labelAnonymous reviewerThis would be an ideal product if not for the adhesive product label that no amount of soaking wants to come off. Left with a permanent mark of where it was and some residue/white streaks. Ikea telling you to use water is unhelpful since this doesn’t work. Perhaps spend less time telling customers how to remove their product labels and more time designing better product labels that don’t damage the product.1
Used a sticker that damages cork and leaves behind a tacky surfaceAnonymous reviewerLove the design of the mat, but it took me an hour to remove the sticker they used. Despite trying to be super careful, plenty of cork came off with the sticker, and there is now a super sticky residue on the surface. You can't use sticky stuff remover on this sort of material. So annoying and short sighted. 1
Who designed the label?Anonymous reviewerGreat product however you can’t get the sticker off it without damaging the cork.4
Good item— Terrible presentationAnonymous reviewerThe mat is good but who allowed an adhesive label to be stuck on it which is extremely difficult to remove,we had to warm it with the hair dryer and peel it off slowly. Product development department should be ashamed at allowing this sort of label on a fragile item.1
change the sticky labelsAnonymous reviewerit works as it should. protects my desk surface. but can we please change the sticker on it. nightmare to get off and doesn't peel without leaving bits behind and you can't put any sticky stuff remover on it as it'll mark the pad. so 4 instead of 5 stars for that one reason4
Not as practical as expectedAnonymous reviewerBecause the cork is so thin if you get any water on it (for instance I spilled a small amount of water which I immediately mopped up) the surface buckles significantly, to the extent when dried I can no longer use a mouse on that part.3
Sticky labels 😒Anonymous reviewerThe sticky labels on the corner were very difficult to remove. They've also left a mark on the product which spoils the look.4
Lovely, but peels apart almost immediatelyAnonymous reviewerI really love this, it’s a great size with rounded corners and improves my desk. It is not quite as pictured in the close up - photo 3 - it is two thin layers of cork glued together with a piece of paper between. After one day of use, the two layers have started to peel apart, which is a real shame.1
Sticky label residueAnonymous reviewerThe susie label is hard to get off and leaves the sticky adhesive on the matt. It doesn't seem to come off completely without damaging the matt. For my use I wish Ikea made larger matts, but the widest they do is 65cm. It looks and feels good, quite soft.3

What is cork?

Cork comes from cork oak bark which is carefully cut from the tree’s trunk. It then takes about nine years until the tree forms new bark that can be harvested. Since a cork oak can live to be aged 150-200, each one produces a lot of cork during its lifetime. Cork has several good qualities as a material: it’s lightweight, flexible, waterproof and naturally resists fire. We use it in furniture and accessories.
