Do Not BuyVerified ReviewerI do not understand what other reviewers see in this chair because I found it to be insufferably uncomfortable.
The seat noticeably slopes uncomfortably forward when it's in the resting position. (And before customer service get in here, the chair does not have multiple locking positions. The only lock position is the same as the resting position)
The seat is also an inch or two too shallow/short which I could not get used to.
The lower back is fairly soft and does not provide much support, which is not ideal when you need to sit in it for long periods, such as for work.
The upper back is bizarrely hard and it feels like I have a metal bar digging in across my shoulder blades.
The arm rests are too short, which is a minor issue but still feels weird.
The whole combination makes the experience of sitting in it cramped, uncomfortable and restless.
I'm profoundly disappointed as I expected much better quality from IKEA, especially given the price.1

Ikea support claim this chair can be tilted back slightly and locked in position.
It CANNOT. It has to be tilted back FULLY before the lock lever can be engaged.
Ikea, please learn about your product before replying to people with a valid and common complaint.1
Good Value but needs modifyingVerified ReviewerThe chair is good value for money & is easy to assemble (N.B. some parts are hidden in the zipped backrest). The seat base slopes down too far at the front & the backrest is nearly vertical unlike the picture in the brochure. The chair can be reclined but can't be locked in the reclining position. This was cured by putting approx. 2 x 15mm spacers under the two front seat base fixings. The other problem was the castors which only rotate when sitting down, meaning that to move the chair when no one is using it involves dragging the locked wheels across the floor. I have put conventional castors to cure the problem. Once those modification were done the chair was comfortable & I would recommend it.3
Good chair but badly designedVerified ReviewerThe chair tilts forward which is uncomfortable. This was fixed by placing spacers at the front two screw which help tilt the chair back & level.
The locking wheels are incredibly annoying. Ikea trying to fix a safety issue that doesn't exist. Again had to 'modify' the caster wheels so I can freely move the chair when not sitting on it.
So much for good design. Perhaps Ikea designers are just running out of ideas?2

Lovely chair BUT.......Verified ReviewerBought this chair to use in my Craft Room. But, being an OAP and with old bones lol, I cannot sit at it for long and also wish I could take the arms off.
I find as I have to sit forward creating at my desk, my back aches and because of the arms my shoulders and elbow ache too.
My daughter sat at it though and she said it was so comfortable and is thinking of buying one. When she is not chasing young adults around school she is a lot working at her desk and computer.
So I suppose it depends on what you are using the chair for. But the seat itself is comfortable and the chair really does look nice.4
