Reviews

Handy set of shelves forVerified ReviewerHandy set of shelves for a shed. Hard to work out how to get the screws in. Better instructions need for the assembly as initially it seemed to me the screws did not line up with the holes. Eventually i put several in and it got easier, but it was a bit fiddly.4
Pain to build, should have bought a Kallax!Verified ReviewerWorst thing I have ever bought from IKEA… nothing was lined up, looks flimsy, painful (literally!) to build! Should have bought a Kallax instead!1
Not in room I bought for!Verified ReviewerOrdered with wardrobes and thought this would be ideal in my bathroom … it was too large so had a rethink and now in my kitchen with air fryer and pits and pans in.. everyone has remarked on how funky it is and I’m an older lady!!5
GreatVerified ReviewerI bought 6 of these to use for storage in my loft. They are very easy to assemble and hold all my stuff, so I now I can easily find whatever I need.5
Just what I wanted forVerified ReviewerJust what I wanted for my kitchen for the industrial look5
Good for simple storageVerified ReviewerGood for easy storage however they are a little rocky, and they can bend a little so be careful when loading heavier items on them. However, they have been excellent for a previously bomb-site under stairs cupboard.4
Love it very good for out and indoor, strong and still fine past couple yearsVerified ReviewerLove my products all very good qualities5
What can you expect for £19Verified ReviewerI suppose it's doing the job but I think it might collapse one day. It was also hard to get the screws in.2
Metal shelvesVerified ReviewerExcellent product, we have that at home and in the greenhouse5
Difficult to assembleVerified ReviewerIts holes are inaccurate. I cannot assemble it and need to refund it.2
Awful itemVerified ReviewerAwful item, none of the holes aling so it's impossible to assemble and it's completely out of shape. Poor quality, don't waste your money.1
Does what it says on the tinVerified ReviewerGood set of shelves that works great in outbuilding storage5
HYLLISVerified ReviewerGreat value5
Avoid like the plagueVerified ReviewerHow this product has a 4.5 rating is beyond me. I must've received a faulty item. Steer clear from this product if you get easily frustrated when trying to assemble IKEA furniture. I normally don't have any major issues putting their furniture together but this product is so very poorly designed. Whoever designed this should not only stop designing things, ideally they'd also be prosecuted for coming up with this shelving unit. The holes don't line up as the metal parts are all bent at the ends. I'm not sure that it's physically possible to get all of the screws in. I think most of them are now too worn out for me to successfully assemble this unit. Trash.1
Hyliss shelving unitVerified ReviewerIn my 65 years on this planet, this must rate as one of my worst purchases ever. The unit is flimsy, the screw holes don’t align and the metal components are poorly constructed and warped. Add to the experience one and a half hours circling the car park of the Southampton IKEA whilst my wife purchased the unit. If I had known what I was buying I wouldn’t have paid more than 50 pence.1
Stylish and practicalVerified ReviewerStylish and practical4
Good functional shelvesVerified ReviewerThis is a good lightweight shelving unit for our utility room. It’s a useful platform for parking things.2
Very poor build qualityVerified ReviewerMetal is all twisted and the holes don’t line up. Very difficult to build even with a power screwdriver. End product is also twisted. You would be paying dirt for dirt1
Solid shelvesVerified ReviewerBought these to fit out a new shed, easy to assemble and look like they'll last a long time.5
Shelving unit was bought toVerified ReviewerShelving unit was bought to use in shed, which it is perfect for.5

Material

What is steel?

Steel has unique characteristics when it is stretched and shaped since it remains strong. It provides strength to everything from skyscrapers and cars to bed frames and outdoor furniture. The steel industry is moving in the direction of more energy-efficient production and stronger steel qualities. It doesn’t lose any of its properties when recycled and today steel is one of the most recycled materials in the world.
