Difficult to get drawers to fitAnonymous reviewerHaving bought and assembled Ikea furniture for many years with no problems, we ignored the “hard to assemble “ reviews. The cabinet was easy and the drawers, although trickier proved no problem. However, putting the two together was a nightmare! The instructions are just not good enough. After several days of ‘having another go’, trying every forum online and doing several online chats, we eventually managed to complete the filing cabinet so that each drawer now opens independently but unfortunately, the bottom of each drawer sticks out, so the front is not nice and flush. We are reluctant to fiddle with it anymore as at least it works.3

Very versatileAnonymous reviewerThey look very nice and it was a relatively easy solo assembly (although another person would make it notably easier). It is just a little tougher than the average home furniture build. Bought for the versatile width - allows me to store a wider range of documents (notably fitting foolscap size) than I found with other filing cabinets. Really love the look. The price is slightly misleading as you do have to add delivery so make sure you account for that. 5

The piece is overly complicated for the sake of being complicated. The instructions are very difficult to understand. The piece looks great, but the drawers themselves were so difficult to connect, made worse that the pre-drilled holes were slightly out. 1

Material

What is particleboard?

Particleboard is made from recycled wood and sawmill leftovers – so wood pieces with the wrong shade, woodchips and sawdust become a resource instead of possibly being discarded. We use boards for things like bookcases, bed frames, sofas and kitchen frames. To protect from wear and moisture, we apply varnish, veneer or foil that adds to the furniture's look.
