Product details

It’s easy to keep the cables from your TV and other devices out of sight but close at hand, as there are several cable outlets at the back of the TV bench.

The cable outlet at the top lets cables run down smoothly into the TV bench.

The legs raise your BESTÅ combination from the floor, giving it a light airy look and making it easy to clean the floor underneath.

The two drawers make it easy to keep remote controls, game controllers and other TV accessories organised.

The drawers close silently and softly, thanks to the integrated soft-closing function.

Reviews

Besta tv bench Verified ReviewerIt was so flimsy. Made out of ooor quality material. Not stable. Kept swaying from side to side. It will collapse. Mike was really nice in sorting the issue but then a polish customer service cancelled my replacement and messed up the order 1
Soft close draws don't work, can't open, why give that as an optionVerified ReviewerWhen buying it gives you the option of soft close or push open door slides. Why give an option that does not work? It can be installed but for this type of cabinet there is no handle, edge or hold you can use to open the drops. So with soft close sliders it's impossible to open the drops... Seems illogical to allow someone ordering online to pick an option that makes it unusable?1
Poor design - not like the pictures, pictures are misleading. Gap between draw and shelvesVerified ReviewerI got the T V unit with draws, though once you have figured out which individual parts to buy (which is not made clear on the ikea website), then when I have started building it there is clearly a design fault to the top to cover the drawer. When the drawers are closed there is about an inch gap where drawer contents can easily be seen. The shelf needs to deeper (as shown on the picture). This is misleading and an incorrect misreprentation of the product and when I have searched this is an known issue others have flagged with ikea who have not rectified or seem to care to fix. Not at all pleased. Buy this configuration at your peril1
Poor designVerified ReviewerI bought the two drawer white stained Oak effect 120x40x64 Besta tv unit. No problem with the unit itself, but when the drawers are closed there is about an inch gap where drawer contents can easily be seen. The shelf needs to de deeper (as shown on the picture of the white one) . This is quite clearly a design fault or the designer identified the wrong top to cover the drawer. Not at all pleased1
Poor quality.Verified ReviewerArrived damaged. Replacement parts also arrived damaged. Drillings for fastenings were so rough they had to be cleaned out before the cams would fit. Push-to-open drawers do not always latch. When closed the gap between the shelf front edge and the drawer front is so big the drawer content is easily visible.1
Great modern designVerified ReviewerLooks really modern and simple when in white with gloss drawers fronts. Wall mounts securely. Good sized drawers with easy to use adjustment to get it looking perfect. Easy to put together (just make sure you use the correct orientation and holes on the drawer front and it goes together perfectly) and the push to open works smoothly.5
Extremely poor qualityVerified ReviewerThe shelves once fitted were not level and are not adjustable. The drawers were also not straight once fitted. They were so wonky they would not close, even once they had been adjusted. I had to drill additional holes and move the runners in order to get it straight enough to even close the drawers. One of the drawer fronts was also delivered with a chip in it.1
Poor IkeaVerified ReviewerI assembled this unit as per the provided instructions, which were poor, and upon inserting the drawer units I saw that they are misaligned. The drawers touch at the top and space out at the bottom, I thought I could live with this fault but as it is a focal point in the room it will have to go, shame as I had also bought several packets of screw covers to cover the multitude of unused holes on view1
Good TV CabinetVerified ReviewerThis TV cabinet was perfect for the space we had and looked good with a 55” TV on it. Only negative was that when sitting in front of the TV the two securing bracket holes at either end of the area below the top shelf can be viewed and spoil the look. I am sure Ikea can fix this small problem with some type of cover for the hole.4
Appalling Draw FitVerified ReviewerI purchased three units the Liatorp units were very good, the Besta unit is poor, the draw fit is so bad that I have removed them as I cannot stand looking at the poor result. I hope that I am able to get extra shelves and change the unit into a bookshelf, then throw the drawers away1

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fibreboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
