How to get it

Available services

It’s not only the TV that’s smart! BESTÅ TV benches combine contemporary good looks with practical function. You get lots of storage space and relief from cables that tend to get messy and gather dust.

Product details

A wall-mounted TV bench creates a clean, airy look and there are no legs that get in the way when you vacuum the floor.

It’s easy to keep the cables from your TV and other devices out of sight but close at hand, as there are several cable outlets at the back of the TV bench.

The cable outlet at the top lets cables run down smoothly into the TV bench.

The shelves are adjustable so you can customise your storage as needed.

You can choose to use either the soft-closing or push-open function. The push-opener lets you open the doors with just a light push, while the soft-closing hinges makes sure they close silently and softly.

Optimise and organise your BESTÅ storage with boxes and inserts that you like.

Good to know

We recommend a TV bench to be a bit wider than the TV placed on it. This TV bench suits a TV up to 72 inches. You can choose a larger TV if it’s not heavier than the specified max load for the bench’s top.

If you choose the soft closing function for your BESTÅ, we recommend complementing the fronts with knobs/handles to make the drawers/cabinets more convenient to open.

The top panel of the TV bench is intended for a TV with a maximum weight of 30 kg.

The max. load for a wall-hung TV bench depends on the wall material.

Different wall materials require different types of fixing devices. Use fixing devices suitable for the walls in your home, sold separately.

If you are uncertain about what type of fixing devices to use, please contact your local hardware store.

Reviews

Ignore the amateurs and bad reviews.Anonymous reviewerThe cabinet is well made and fairly straight forward to build if read correctly. I did the assembly myself including mounting it to the wall with zero issues maybe a slight tinker to the adjustments on the door hinges but who expects them to be straight first time? I suggest adding the doors and draws after fitting the initial cabinet to the wall. 10/10 and look forward to buying some more black/walnut furniture.5
Really poor quality Anonymous reviewerWhat can I say. The ikea range used to be better quality. This has gone down hill any little mark or nick, event the slightest damages the surface. Even wiping it down with a cloth means the surface struggles. 1
Bad quality Anonymous reviewerThe cabinet is chipped in several places and the doors are not level. If you try to remove them and put them back, they will be even worse, as the screws will not fit properly and you will ruin the cabinet. 1
Not worth itAnonymous reviewerIts very difficult to assemble, the doors will not remain straight they kept titling. We had to call in a professional to mount it on the wall, it took him 6 hours to get it up and the doors were still not right. It also keeps chipping on the side. Would not recommend this product1
Nice, joints get droopyAnonymous reviewerStrong unit, heavy and immovable once built. Sleek design and stores alot. Thicker nails would be nice for the backboard. 8.5/103
Love it! Anonymous reviewerMixed reviews online but I personally found this easy to build. Built myself within 1 hour. Doors are perfect, didn’t need to realign but easy to do this as it’s shown on instructions. Had to buy some extra corner L shaped brackets to secure to wall studs- didn’t want to screw to plasterboard and the 4 brackets didn’t all line up to a wall stud. Was easy to do once we knew what we were going to do. Looks great! Also bought besta suspension rails thinking they would work- they don’t work with the tv unit! 5
Not worth the money Anonymous reviewerLooks nice but the instructions are very poor and the fittings that came with mine don’t appear to fit properly, also have fittings that don’t seem to go on any of it but because the instructions are so bad you can’t tell what they’re for.2
Ignore the negative reviewsAnonymous reviewerThe doors do take a little bit aligning but doesn’t take that long and looks the dogs once fitted on the wall, ignore the Karen’s that expect it to be perfect without any effort. 5
Unsuitable wall mounting railsAnonymous reviewerSubmitted a review before, but not published so I will try again. Bought this bench and I really like it. Easy to assemble, just had to educate myself in setting the doors to align. Problem is that the mounting rails recommended, are not suitable for mounting the bench on the wall, and nothing else is available. Very disappointing! How can you show pictures of the bench mounted to the wall, but not provide the correct hardware?3
Doors are not on the same height!Anonymous reviewerWe put it together and the Doors are not on the same height. Makes absolutely no sense! For this high amount Can i just return it?? 1
10/10Anonymous reviewerReally happy with the purchase, it looks exactly as I was expecting it to, easy to assemble. Seeing a lot of negative reviews about the doors not aligning - It's a simple case of adjusting the screw in the middle of the door hinge for left/right and adjusting the lower screw to move the doors up/down - its take a bit of tweaking but it will align once you get the right balance. I didn't mount mine on the wall so I can't speak to those issues - however I would highly recommend this product if you have in on the floor. 5
Terrible fitAnonymous reviewerThe doors don't fit at all. I am having two doors fitted slightly above the frame and the remaining one tilting downward toward the right bottom corner. I have no idea how I can fix this awkward and ugly looking TV bench. It's unforgivable for IKEA to have such poor product quality control.1
Highly disappointedAnonymous reviewerHighly disappointed, I bought this for my new house and was told by IKEA to hire task rabbit to put this to my wall. I did so, the gentleman came and put it up and it fell off destroying my wall. Now it can’t be used and only bought a month or so ago. I have to fix my wall which is an extra expense that I didn’t expect.1
Most horrific thing to buildAnonymous reviewerLovely unit but putting it together is horrific the main screws provided are awful to use and the instructions for how to use them were underneath everything not with the main instructions so I’d rounded off 8 out of the 16 screws before finding the rest of the instructions The hinges are awful and don’t work with the screws half the screws were stuck inside the hinges Honestly usually love ikea furniture and it takes an hour to build this has taken me 2 days going backwards and forwards because through pure frustration for the quality of the screws I gave up! Most expensive piece of furniture I’ve bought from ikea maybe we have to stick to the cheap stuff for quality!2
Great TV unit.Anonymous reviewerIn combination with other units, an entertainment unit was created for my lounge, looks amazing.5
Wrong descriptionAnonymous reviewerSo when i ordered this the description said high gloss but the top of the cabinet is Matt. I am finding it very difficult to keep it clean and dust free. I hate it and Ikea are not willing to exchange or refund.1
As expected, Ikea always deliversAnonymous reviewerAs expected, Ikea always delivers quality.5
Great QualityAnonymous reviewerWe originally bought this for our living room wall but due to it being too heavy to put on a stud wall we decided to buy some legs and it look perfect. Well made, prefect to hide consoles and wires. Easy to assemble .5
Good storageAnonymous reviewerStorage is great. Only downside as we hung this quite high is the grey plastic feet look odd and taking them off leaves a hole in each corner.4
Excellent unitAnonymous reviewerGreat unit perfect for storage5

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fibreboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
