Poor StabilityAnonymous reviewerI've had 2 X lower height versions of the same cabinet for some while. - Effectively the same lower drawer format, but with one glass door. - My cabinets are securely fixed to the wall, but that isn't the problem. - The flex in the side panels (top to bottom) is significant, given the weight of even a single door. If the shelf was securely fixed, that would help a lot, but the weight of two doors on this product means they will never line up properly, as there is too much movement in the side panel. - Some sort of linear bracing is required to prevent this. - I would dearly love to purchase 2 of these for my lounge, but I know from experience they will not work in their current format. - I have loads of IKEA furniture, including wardrobes, drawers, some office furniture, storage etc. and I'm more than happy with it, but the laws of physics have beaten the product design here.
rubbish and wobblyAnonymous reviewerthe frame simply not in a regular rectangular shape. the 190cm frame is so shaky. I can't fit the doors on it as the frame is not in good shape. the doors crashes with each other. I built many other series too and for sure the BESTA series sucks! I can't fit the shelf into the frame as well!

It needs some sort of brace to keep the top sturdy, this is something we will look into making and fitting.
Doors don't line up properly because the top of the cabinet flexes and the drawers are a bit of a pain to align.
Ikea need to redesign this and add in bracing.

The instructions were too universal for all the different configurations of this unit. So it made building a bit of a challenge not as intuitive as most ikea products. Needed a specific set just for this configuration.
With regards to it being flimsy it wasn't as long as the unit was secured to the wall. Definitely not a free standing unit.
Once completed the unit looks good, doors and drawers were fine didn't have an issue with them lining up. (Would have done if not attached to the wall)
Overall happy with purchase shame about the instructions.
Flimsy, awful designAnonymous reviewerJust avoid frustration and disappointment and do not buy. Complete waste of time and money! It took nearly all day to assemble this cabinet and it still doesn’t look right. It doesn’t stand square and the doors and draws don’t line up properly. Every time you adjust one thing everything else goes out of place! Doesn’t matter how many times you adjust it all, it makes no difference. There’s definitely a massive design flaw with this cabinet. Really wish I had checked reviews before purchasing but usually ikea furniture is pretty good. Can’t return it ourselves as we had to get it delivered. I really think they ought to take this product off sale until they figure out how to make the design better. Beautiful looking cabinet on the website, complete mess in real life !
DissapointingAnonymous reviewerNightmare! Needed two of these units. Two were returned due to engineering faults. Drill residue left in channel preventing back panel sliding into place. Next carcass returned due to damage inside packaging. 4 journeys in 2 days. 160 miles instead of 40! Then the doors and drawers were difficult to align as the carcass is not stable. Thankfully my husband was able to work around these issues. Gone are the days when expensive items at Ikea meant good quality product. These are poorly engineered items made with poor quality materials. The panells don't even align properly as they used to. So dissapointed with our £600 purchase.

Storage combination w glass doorsAnonymous reviewerHaving assembled various Ikea products in the past with no problems this unit was extremely difficult - particularly when the drawers area. Unless this unit is required to sit on a wooden floor it difinately requires to be on legs. All runners and hinges require to be raised on carcase by 3/4 of an inch. Have eventually assembled this unit with modification - but not happy with it.!

What is constructed board?
We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fibreboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
