Your shelf, your self

Your shelf, your self

The things we choose to put on display can say a lot about who we are and what we hold dear. Here’s how to create three shelving spaces that combine convenient storage and a unique sense of personality.

The geologist

Beautiful stones and crystals are too stunning not to show off. So showcase them in a variety of ways: in glass display cases and classic domes that protect them and keep dust at bay, jars and vases of different sizes, or out in the open on industrial-style shelving that serves as a contrast to their natural, organic forms.

The audiophile

Keep your precious vintage instruments, records, and sheet music protected and you’ll be making beautiful music for years to come. A glass cabinet shows them off while keeping them dust-free and allows the natural light to show them off at their best.

The globetrotter

All of those odds and ends you’ve collected over the years on your adventures? They deserve to be on display, telling the story of your life. A simple shelf with clean lines gives them centre stage, while small boxes keep items like photos, maps, and brochures tidy.

We love to see our customers get creative with our products. Go for it! But please note that altering or modifying IKEA products so they can no longer be re-sold or used for their original purpose, means the IKEA commercial guarantees and your right to return the products will be lost.
