Trend alert: spring colour story

18 February 2016

With the arrival of spring, it’s only natural to feel the urge to refresh your home. The easiest way to get a new look? A colour makeover. We’ve got three new looks for you to try out.

Different IKEA products in various shades of red and pink are arranged in a corner.

Feeling rosy

From bright, bold poppy to peony pink, expect to see a major array of red tones this season. Running the spectrum from deeply saturated to barely-there blush tones, rose tones are an easy way to energise your home. (We’re completely in love with these glass cylinder vases. They’ll be available to purchase in August!)

“I like to look to the fashion world for inspiration. The catwalks are great predictors of what’s to come in the rest of the design world.”

The bright side

Are you as happy to say goodbye to the winter darkness as we are? Usher in springtime with a light new look. Think chalk white, cream, natural materials like birch, and breezy lace textiles.

Dynamic duo

Shades of yellow, mustard and ochre are a perfect match for blues and minty green. Something about it feels so modern, but classic all at once.
