Set a fresh table for spring

01 February 2015

‘I love having friends and family over for lunch’, says stylist Carl Braganza. ‘The relaxed setting makes for good conversation. And, with a few touches, a simple gathering can feel really special.’

Carl Braganza, stylist

‘A welcoming table can set the whole mood for a gathering – have fun with it! Experimenting with your creativity makes the process enjoyable’

Carl Braganza, stylist

ENSIDIG vases filled with spring flowers hanging from wooden branch.

A branch hung from ceiling hooks can become a year-round centrepiece that you update with the seasons.

Bring the setting to life with details such as posies of garden flowers in glass bottles hung with twine.

Use textiles and cushions to bring indoor cosiness and soften your outdoor-inspired set-up.

To create the ombré effect on the legs of this stool, start with quite a dry brush and work paint up from the bottom. Dry and repeat, building the paint up so you get a gradation.

Make it easy for everyone to help themselves with stacked plates, cutlery in terracotta pots and napkins in jars.

Carafes of water create a lovely effect with the spring light.
