Party favour ideas five easy-peasy party favours

01 May 2015

Being the ‘hostess with the mostess’ isn’t easy. And party favours are just one more thing to think about. But these five little gift ideas say ‘thanks for coming’ without breaking the bank, or your back.

DIY party favours can be from almost anything, think fake flowers, paper, glasses beads, eggshells, plants, bottles of something special.

1. for friendships that live forever

Wrap fake flowers together with ribbon and create a colourful fake flower garland to decorate your table settings.

Who doesn’t love getting flowers? (Especially ones that look this good and take zero effort to look after.) Weave wreaths (by wrapping ribbon around 2-3 artificial flowers at a time) to decorate the table settings or to give to friends as they arrive.

2. for when you’re on first-name terms with everyone

Decorate glasses with personalised ‘letters’ of thanks made from beads. (Hopefully you don’t have more than one guest with the same first initial.)

3. for when friendships are just beginning to grow

Place half an eggshell in an egg cup and fill with soil. Plant your seedling into this. Plant a few and create a tiny garden on your table display.

Give away seedlings planted in eggshells and see your friendships (and the tiny plants) grow.

4. for when it’s time to celebrate

Toast your friendships with individual snaps glasses and bottles of something special (to drink now or later).

5. for the friends you know better than yourself

Fortune favours the bold! Take matters into your own hands and make your own DIY fortune ‘cookies’. (They’re not actual cookies so, you know, don’t eat them.)
