A wardrobe turned treasure trove

01 September 2015

Think of your drawers, shelves and rails as display cases rather than storage, and put your best things on show. We looked at Gina’s wardrobe for inspiration; it’s full of small – and easy – personal touches tailored to suit her accessories and style.

A shallow drawer is the place for treasured accessories

‘Our shallow drawers are the place for the “that’s so me” things – the pieces we just had to have!’

Make a feature of favourites

The clothes we like best are usually the ones we wear the most, so dedicate an area just to them. Customise hangers with labels to make it even easier to find that ‘never fails to make you look good’ white T-shirt on a rushed morning.

Colour-coded storage

‘I’m super neat, so I like to sort my clothes by type and colour. This doesn’t just make me feel good – it also makes finding items to match much easier,’ says Gina. ‘The customised beaded hangers take the colour scheme one step further and make looking through these simple shirts feel glamorous!’

Hang it up. Store necklaces and accessories on hooks

‘Using coat hooks as necklace hangers stops my chains from getting tangled, and they can double up as a hat rack,’ says Gina.

Get organised: hang the next day’s outfit up on a BYGEL rail

Plan ahead

‘Every evening I hang the next day’s outfit up on a BYGEL rail, which I painted white to fit in with the rest of the wardrobe. It’s a little thing that makes getting ready in the mornings so much quicker!’ Gina.

Shelves for shoes

‘I display the heels I don’t get to wear often on open shelves so I can still enjoy them. I like having beautiful things on view in a practical way, instead of hiding them away behind a door.’

‘I’m not much of a morning person, but having a fun, organised wardrobe really helps. It gives me peace of mind to know where everything is, and that it’s all neat and tidy’
