What is IKEA Family and what are the benefits of joining?

IKEA Family is the IKEA loyalty programme with more than 100 million members world wide. IKEA Family is open to everyone, and it’s free to join with no membership fees.

With an IKEA Family membership, you can enjoy discounts on selected home furnishing products, food products and services. We also host regular member only events in-store such as free home furnishing workshops and seminars, and previews of new ranges. You will also receive regular inspirational communications so we can keep you up to date with trends and changes, and free product insurance just in case something goes wrong while getting your items home or assembling them.

How can I become an IKEA Family member?

It’s free and easy to sign up and you can start using the benefits immediately. You can sign up in store at one of the IKEA Family kiosks, or online today. You will receive a temporary card on registration so you can start to enjoy the benefits straight away, and your plastic card will be sent to you within 4 weeks of registration.


I have not received my card and I want to shop at IKEA, what should I do?

You could choose to go “Card Free” by downloading the IKEA Store app for your smart phone. The app can store a digital version of your IKEA Family card. Download for free via Google Play (Android) or the Apple App Store (iOS).

Alternatively, you can print a temporary card either in store at an IKEA Family kiosk, or by using your online account. It usually takes a couple of weeks for a new card to be delivered to you.

You need to show an IKEA Family card at the time of purchase to qualify for any Family offers.


What do I do if I have lost my card?

You could choose to go “Card Free” by downloading the IKEA Store app for your smart phone. The app can store a digital version of your IKEA Family card. Download for free via Google Play (Android) or the Apple App Store (iOS).

Alternatively, you can request a new card using your online account or print a temporary one either in store, or by using your online account. It usually takes a couple of weeks for a new card to be delivered to you.


How do I make changes to my IKEA Family card details, or cancel my account?

You can update any of your details such as name, address, contact details, marketing preferences and home interests online via your IKEA FAMILY account. Alternatively you can contact us


I’ve forgotten my email or password, what should I do?

You can request a new password by selecting “forgot your password” on the login page. If your email address is registered with us, we will send you an email with a link to create a new password.

If you have forgotten your email, you can log in by entering your IKEA Family card number rather than an email address.


Can I add a purchase to my IKEA Family card?

To qualify for any offers or additional discounts, you need to present and swipe your IKEA Family card at the time of purchase. Unfortunately, we are unable to add a purchase or any discount afterwards.

How do I sign up for an event in store such as a workshop or seminar?

We have different events running throughout the year in all of our stores, from home furnishing seminars and design workshops to exclusive preview events and our world famous Crayfish parties!

Can you tell me more about the free product insurance?

IKEA Family members benefit from free product insurance against any accidental damage on the way home or whilst assembling. The insurance is valid on any purchase and not just items with an IKEA Family price.

The IKEA Family card must be swiped at time of purchase to insure the products. To claim on your insurance please come to store within 90 days of the date of purchase with the item, your IKEA Family card and your receipt. Insurance can only be claimed in store, not by contacting Customer Service by phone, email or online. Full terms and conditions can be found here.


Can I use my IKEA Family card in another country?

IKEA Family cards can only be used in the country they are issued in. If you would like to take advantage of an IKEA Family offer in a different country you would need to register in that country.
