Dispatch and Delivery

Do you deliver?

Yes, we deliver. You can either place your order directly in the store at the home delivery desk, or you may purchase online to have products delivered directly to you in a few days.

If you arrange our home delivery service in store, the delivery will normally take place the following day.

For online deliveries, there are two delivery methods. We aim to deliver your order within 14 days, depending on stock availability and where you live.

Smaller deliveries are fulfilled by Parcelforce Monday-Saturday at a cost of £3.95 or £9.95 depending on the size of your order.

Larger deliveries are fulfilled by our approved suppliers Monday-Sunday depending on your postcode, at a cost of £35. This is for larger orders or any product that we deem unsuitable for parcel delivery.

Can I get a faster delivery?

If you are ordering online, the estimated delivery date is the earliest date we can deliver as the items come from our distribution centre. If you visit a store, our home delivery service may be able to offer you next day delivery.

What delivery communication can I expect?

Orders placed in store:

For deliveries booked in store at the home delivery desk, you will receive a text message* the day before your delivery is due with a link to track your order on its way to you. You will receive a further text message on the day of delivery informing you when the driver is approximately one hour away or a one hour pre call on the telephone number provided.

*If you provided a mobile number during booking.

Order placed online/distribution orders:

Please check your order confirmation email to confirm the type of delivery you are having. If your order has been split, you will receive two separate deliveries.

Smaller delivery

One day before your delivery is due, you will receive a text message (or email if you did not provide a mobile number) from Parcelforce. This will give you some options if you will not be home on the planned delivery date, for example deliver to a neighbour or your local Post Office for collection. On the morning of your delivery date, you will receive a tracking number and be provided with a one hour timeslot.

Larger delivery

If you provided a mobile number during checkout, you will receive the following text messages from IKEA:

  • - 48 hours before your delivery, we will text you with your AM or PM 4 hour time slot.
  • - On the morning of your delivery, you will receive a text message with a tracking link and notification that we will text you when we are approximately one hour away.
  • - 1 hour before your delivery, you will receive a message to advise we are almost with you.

If you have not provided a mobile number, we will instead email you 48 hours prior to your delivery with your AM or PM 4 hour time slot. We will call you on the telephone number provided one hour before your delivery is due.

Do you do international shipping?

We are able to deliver within the UK only, however we can deliver to a shipping agent if you specify them as the delivery address when you order. Please ensure this is pre-arranged with the shipping agent.

Can I order delivery to a different name or address?

Yes, as long as the delivery address is in mainland UK, the Isle of Wight or Northern Ireland.

Can I track my delivery?

Your order confirmation will confirm the type of delivery you are expecting. You can track your order in the following ways:

Smaller delivery: Parcelforce will contact you, usually the day before delivery, with information on how to track your order. Please note, we are unable to view any additional information from what is shown on the Parcelforce tracking site.

Larger delivery: You should receive a text message on the morning of your delivery which will include a tracking link to our live map site where you can follow the progress of our delivery team.

If you have purchased online you will be able to use our order tracker to check the latest status of your order. You will need your order number, post code and the email address you gave when the order was placed.

How do I tell you about delivery restrictions?

To ensure the smooth delivery of your order, there are a few points we need to know about your address:

  • Will there be time to unload/load?
  • Do you live on a red route?
  • Are there any height, width or weight restrictions?
  • Are there any parking restrictions?
  • Will the vehicle require a parking permit?
  • Are there any time restrictions?

Don't worry; we will always find a way, but to ensure delivery first time please let us know of any delivery restrictions in your area in plenty of time. If you think we may have difficulty accessing your property, please contact us.

Can I order online and collect from a store?

We have introduced a Click & Collect service in all our Order and Collection Point locations and selected stores*. It is not currently possible to reserve items in our other stores, however we hope to extend this service soon.

To use this service, simply select the ‘Collect from Store OR Order and Collection Point’ option in your shopping bag. Please note that you must be logged out/checking out as a guest to use this service.

*Currently available in IKEA Croydon, IKEA Belfast and IKEA Nottingham.

What do I do if I have something missing or damaged from my delivery?

Please contact us as soon as possible.
