Live boldly, joyfully and well with the BASTUA collection

A limited collection designed in collaboration with Finnish design house Marimekko, BASTUA is inspired by nature and the self-care rituals of the Nordic sauna. The furniture, glassware and textiles with vibrant prints encapsulate the simple and aesthetic beauty of Nordic nature.

Dreamy patterns inspired by the Nordic sauna

These bold and colourful kimonos’ designs feature rhubarbs that sometimes grow next to sauna huts in Finland, and graphic yet relaxed stripes reminiscent of the slats that playfully lie side-by-side on sauna benches.

A man and a woman wearing blue BASTUA kimonos playfully strike a pose, each holding a large rhubarb leaf outdoors.
A man wears a green BASTUA kimono with a stripe pattern while striking a pose with his hands around a tree.
A woman wearing a BASTUA kimono with a leaf pattern sits on a chair in a meadow while holding up a BASTUA leaf-shaped tray.
This pattern for the BASTUA collection is inspired by the large, decorative rhubarb leaves that sometimes grow next to sauna buildings in Finland.

Like little jewels on your dining table

The collection includes exquisite glasses, bowls and jugs inspired by carved logs and sun-dappled water ripples. IKEA designer Henrik Preutz imagined a sauna by a lake – where the wind rippled the surface while reflecting the midnight sun in the crystal-clear water.

Four BASTUA glasses stand on a concrete surface with water splashes, with sunlight refracting in their irregular facets.
A BASTUA glass jug used as a vase for a single poppy flower stands on a concrete surface, against a dark background.
Five BASTUA glasses arranged artistically on a concrete surface, with sunlight refracting in their irregular facets.
With a Scandinavian summer evening by a crystal-clear lake in mind, I created the BASTUA glass. Light refracts in the irregular facet pattern.

    Simple design that brings calm

“Nordic furniture design has always been characterised by clean lines and simple constructions that focus on function,” IKEA designer Mikael Axelsson shares. The furniture in the collection is a nod to this heritage with its solid birch material and simple, yet functional design.

A BASTUA bench made of solid birch stands on a marble tiled floor by a large glass window.

A lamp that captures the magic of the midnight sun

Add a dreamy glow to your indoor space with the BASTUA LED lantern. The combination of light birch, rice paper and its soft, diffused light creates a minimalistic, serene atmosphere to get your relaxation ritual started.

A BASTUA LED lantern placed on top of a bench glows warmly in a bungalow with glass windows surrounded by trees at dusk.

Delightful on-the-go items for everyday adventures

Our iconic and super handy FRAKTA carrier bag gets a bold remix with colourful patterns, including one with larger-than-life rhubarb leaves. Meanwhile, the pattern on the water bottle is inspired by löyly – the flower-like abstract shapes that steam creates when water is thrown on a hot sauna stove.

A hand refills a BASTUA water bottle with a floral pattern under a tap on a steel, industrial-looking sink.
A woman smiles and stands close to an outdoor shower, with a blue and orange BASTUA bath sheet wrapped around her shoulders.
You can have a piece of Nordic happiness with you, even without a sauna.
