A Scandinavian-inspired home in the Raadiraja residential development

IKEA for Business furnished a 46 m² one-bedroom show apartment in the Raadiraja residential development in Tartu. The goal was simple: to show how a well-designed home can feel spacious, welcoming, and elegantly personal – even when space is limited.

Light and airy living room

To let the light flow through the space and make the living area feel bigger, our interior designer worked with soft, light tones and warm oak veneer. Black details, like the BESTÅ TV bench with doors, add contrast, while terracotta‑coloured textiles bring cosiness and personality. The result is a calm, well-balanced living room that feels welcoming.

Warm and cosy kitchen area

The same light, warm tones and contrasting accents continue into the kitchen and dining area. The rounded STOCKHOLM 2025 table and matching chairs bring a sense of movement to the space, while the dark reeded glass doors hint at what’s inside the cabinet and add an element of interest. Integrated cabinet lighting further enhances the look and showcases the beautiful glassware.

Bedroom with plenty of space

TONSTAD bedside tables in oak veneer and a large wardrobe offer ample storage space for bedtime and daytime necessities, adding warmth to the room. Mirrors on both sides of the bed reflect light and help the space feel brighter and more open. The bed frame also features soft‑closing drawers, making the most of the space under the bed.

Bathroom designed for everyday routines

In the bathroom, oak-effect surfaces set a natural base that contrasts softly with light walls. Black details, from the tap to the shower fittings, add definition and structure, while wall storage, such as the ÄNGSJÖN cabinet, keeps everyday essentials close at hand without clutter.

Outdoor living on the balcony

The NÄMMARÖ conversation set brings warm wood tones outdoors, creating a relaxed lounge area for morning coffee or an afternoon read. White and terracotta accents add lightness and balance, helping the balcony feel like a natural extension of the home.
