When IKEA guarantees apply
Our guarantees can change over time and are always determined by the date of order or purchase. The period the terms and conditions of yours applies to starts from the day you receive your product – whether you take it home yourself, or it’s delivered to you – so always keep a record of your purchase and order.

IKEA kitchen guarantee
On the METOD kitchen system, we offer a 25-year guarantee covering defects in material and workmanship.
All kitchen mixer taps from IKEA have a 10-year guarantee, while all IKEA appliances have a 5-year guarantee. The exceptions are LAGAN and TILLREDA, which have a 2-year guarantee.
These guarantees only apply to domestic kitchen use and are subject to terms and conditions.

IKEA bathroom guarantee
The 10-year IKEA bathroom guarantee covers defects in material and workmanship on the GODMORGON bathroom series. It also covers our wash-basins, mixer taps and shower mixers.
All shower accessories such as riser rails, head showers and hand showers, shower hoses and hand shower parking brackets come with a 3-year guarantee.

IKEA bedroom guarantee
We’re known for our mattress guarantee (and our free IKEA 90-day mattress exchange), which covers mattresses and bed bases marked with our logo, against defects in materials and workmanship.
We also offer a 10-year guarantee on PAX wardrobes and KOMPLEMENT interior organisers marked with our logo, against defects in materials and workmanship.

IKEA sofa and armchairs guarantee
Our sofas are rigorously tested to comply with our strict standards for quality and durability as well as with the highest standards for domestic use. This means that we can offer you a 10-year guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship that covers frames and cushions of our sofas. For our IKEA STOCKHOLM sofa, this involves a 25-year guarantee.

IKEA workspace guarantees and IKEA office furniture guarantees
We’re offer you a 10-year guarantee against defects in materials, workmanship and function on all main parts in the BEKANT series, IDÅSEN series, GALANT storage system, THYGE desk and HÄLLAN cabinets.
We also provide a 10-year guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship in the moving parts and frame of the following IKEA office chairs: MARKUS, LÅNGFJÄLL, HATTEFJÄLL, ALEFJÄLL, JÄRVFJÄLLET, TROLLBERGET, FLINTAN and FJÄLLBERGET.

General conditions
Who is the provider of commercial guarantee?
The commercial guarantee is provided by the Seller - IKEA Latvija – Paul Mason Properties SIA, company established and operating in accordance with laws of the Republic of Latvia, registration number 50103951541, registered office address Bikeru st. 2, Ulbroka, Stopiņi parish, Ropaži municipality, LV-1079, Republic of Latvia, VAT code LV50103951541, e-mail address: [email protected], contact phone number: +371 6 330 1000.
What commercial guarantee is provided and under what conditions?
The commercial guarantee is valid in the territory of Latvia and can be provided upon purchase of goods in physical or on-line IKEA Latvia store. Each product shall be accompanied by information as regards the commercial guarantee provided. Special conditions of the commercial guarantee are indicated for each specific product covered by the commercial guarantee.
How long is the commercial guarantee valid?
Each commercial guarantee lasts for the number of years stated in the product details attached to each product, starting from the day on which the consumer acquires possession of the goods.
What will IKEA do to correct the problem?
In order to use the commercial guarantee the Buyer should contact the Seller by phone or by e-mail (tel.: +371 6 330 1000; e-mail: [email protected]) and agree on the conditions of delivery (return) of defective goods to the Seller. The Buyer can also return defective goods to the Return and Replacement Department. As regards the guarantee for household appliances, the Buyer should contact a particular guarantee service provider as authorised by IKEA. All contacts and descriptions are provided on IKEA website and also physically attached to each product.
Upon receipt of the product, IKEA will examine the product and decide, at its sole discretion, if it is covered under the commercial guarantee. If considered covered, IKEA will then replace it with the same or a comparable product. If a product is covered by a commercial guarantee, IKEA shall pay the costs of repairs, spare parts, labour and travel for repair staff, provided that the product is accessible for repair without special expenditure. This does not apply to any repair work not authorised by IKEA. All the replaced defective parts become the property of IKEA. If the product is no longer sold by IKEA, it will be replaced by a similar product. IKEA will provide an appropriate replacement at its sole discretion.
When does the commercial guarantee take effect?
The commercial guarantee takes effect from the date of purchase of the product in IKEA. The original purchase receipt is required as proof of purchase.
Exclusions
The commercial guarantee does not apply to products that have been stored or assembled incorrectly, used inappropriately, abused, misused, altered, or cleaned using wrong cleaning methods or wrong cleaning products. Natural wear and tear of the product or change in its properties is not considered a defect in quality, therefore it is not covered by the commercial guarantee, as well as any accidental breakage, scratches, etc. The commercial guarantee does not apply for products stored outdoors or in a humid environment or used for non-domestic purposes (unless permitted by the product specification). Also, the commercial guarantee does not apply to such product as plants, light bulbs, batteries, fabrics, custom-made worktops, and products from the Discounted Goods Department. The commercial guarantee does not cover consequential or incidental damages. Care instructions
To be able to use the commercial guarantee the Buyer must to follow the specific care instructions for every product.
General legal rights
The commercial guarantee entitles the Buyer to ask the Seller to repair the defects of the product free of charge or to replace the defective product with another product during the guarantee period. These additional rights do not in any way limit the Buyer’s rights guaranteed by law, including the Buyer’s rights in the event of purchase of a defective product or service.
Who to approach for service under the commercial guarantee?
Please contact your local IKEA store or reach us via internet. Save your purchase receipt as proof of purchase. Proof of purchase is required for the guarantees to be valid. As regards household appliances, please contact the indicated guarantee service provider.
