The best classrooms often make room for the things children love to do. Whether it's drawing, reading, playing, crafting, taking care of plants or spending time together, those everyday activities help children thrive. But when space is limited or cluttered, even the best ideas can struggle to find room to grow.
That's why we're inviting pupils and teachers from Years 1-6 to take part in the "Make Space for What You Love" contest!
The contest isn't just about tidying up the classroom. It's about seeing new possibilities, coming up with ideas together, and finding simple solutions that can make your classroom an even more inspiring place to learn, create and belong.
And there’s more: as a prize, five classes will win a fun IKEA store experience together with their teachers or accompanying adults.

How to enter the "Make Space for What You Love" contest
What could make your classroom even better? Brainstorm together!
What does your class love doing most? And how could you make more space for it?
For example:
- We love reading → let’s create a cosy reading corner
- We love drawing → let’s find a smart way to store artwork and supplies
- We love playing → let’s make toy storage easier
- We love plants → let’s find the perfect place for them in the classroom
Your solution can be big or small. What matters is that it’s your own idea and that it helps make everyday life in your classroom better. And maybe it’s not a physical solution at all. It could be a new agreement, routine or set of classroom rules.
Show us your solution!
Create a video of up to 1 minute with your class and show:
- Before – What could work better in our classroom?
- The idea – What did we come up with?
- After – How does our solution make our everyday life better?
Your video can be funny, playful, creative or completely unexpected. You could make a sketch, an interview, a stop-motion film, or simply show the before-and-after transformation. It’s not about having the most beautiful classroom. It’s about having the best idea.
Entries can be submitted from 9 November to 7 December.

Curious about the prize?
Five classes with the most original and inspiring solutions will win a fun day out at IKEA together with their teachers or accompanying adults.
This is more than just a visit to the store. It's a day filled with discovery, creativity and time together, with everything from a treasure hunt and exciting challenges to exploring the world of IKEA, tasting Swedish flavours and meeting an IKEA mascot.
The winners will be announced by 14 December. We can't wait to see your ideas!
