A message from Jessica Anderen, Country Retail Manager and Chief Sustainability Officer, IKEA Switzerland

We keep on living in extraordinary times and the situation is teaching us that every day we must adapt our lives and our work to new decisions and necessities such as closing our IKEA Vernier store due to the cantonal lockdown of Geneva. The store will remain closed until at least the 29th of November. In Aubonne, the restaurant remains closed until the end of November. The store in Aubonne and all other IKEA stores in Switzerland are open and provide a safe place to visit. Online we are of course available 24/7 on www.ikea.ch.

We have used the last months to develop new services to respond to the changing needs and circumstances, which we will continue to offer. Services such as the Click & Collect drive in (contactless), online planning sessions (a big recommendation for our IKEA Vernier customers), home delivery and many more shall help you to create a warm and cozy home, ready for the winter season.

We are determined to create a better everyday life for the many people in a time when home has never been more important. However, due to the extraordinary circumstances, with tightened security and safety measures, and very high online demand, we are experiencing longer delivery times and many of you have questions regarding your orders which we want to answer on this website. I thank you already now for your patience.

The health and safety of our co-workers and customers across Switzerland is our main priority in everything we do.  We will keep on following our extensive safety and hygiene measures and hope, that we can all go back to a more normal life soon.

Take care, Jessica Anderen

All information on shopping safely:

Safety and hygiene measures

Here’s how we can work together to protect ourselves:

We're still living in challenging times. That’s why we’ve prepared extensive safety and hygiene measures to protect you and our co-workers. So there’s no longer anything stopping you from feeling safe and at ease while shopping with us!

Stricter hygiene measures

Stricter hygiene measures

You’ll find disinfectant dispensers and wipes throughout our stores, and our cleaning staff are constantly on the go.

Duty to wear masks

We comply with the federal regulations to combat the pandemic. In our IKEA stores, masks are mandatory without exception - to ensure the most comprehensive protection for our co-workers and customers.

Customers who do not wish to wear a mask - whether with or without a certificate - are not permitted to visit a store. We handle the situation in the same way for the many and do not see ourselves as having the necessary expertise to distinguish between a doctor's prescription and a certificate purchased on the Internet.

1.5 metres’ distance

To protect ourselves, we are all keeping at a distance from one another. So that we can stick to the minimum distance of 1.5 metres, you will find markings on the floor in certain areas.

Card or contactless payment

You can protect yourself and others by paying by card or contactless (TWINT) rather than cash whenever possible.

Max. four persons at one table

A maximum of four people who already know each other may sit together per table.
The exception is families with more than two children.

What can I do if an item is not available online?

Try adding the item you wish to buy to your shopping list. In some cases it is possible to buy the item this way. When you click on the shopping list, it will say “How would you like to receive your order” at the bottom. Enter your postcode. If there is an alternative option for you, it will be displayed here.

If this does not work either, you will unfortunately have to wait until the item becomes available again.

What can I do if my preferred delivery window is unavailable?

It may happen that some delivery windows are fully booked. If this is the case for you, please select an alternative delivery window.

How can I avoid coming into contact with someone during delivery?

Since the health of our customers, our co-workers and our service partners is our top priority, IKEA and all suppliers that carry out orders for IKEA are adhering to the official guidelines laid down by the FOPH (such as wearing of masks, consistent adherence to distancing guidelines, hygiene routines and more frequent cleaning).

Deliveries through our service partners

Our service partner will call you 30 minutes before delivery. You can let them know if you prefer your delivery to be placed at your front door instead of being brought into your home. Or, if possible, simply select our “Curbside delivery” delivery option.

Parcel deliveries
Our service partner DPD will deliver your package to your home directly. There is also the possibility of a contactless transfer (authority to leave). DPD will send you a link as soon as they have received your package.

IKEA Collect Box
With this service, you can collect your order without directly coming into contact with any of our co-workers.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and are working hard to provide you with your usual shopping experience.
