Smart buys for a more sustainable bath time

The bathroom is a great place to start when it comes to living greener at home – with the whole family using it, small changes can soon add up to make a big difference. Start with simple additions like eco-friendly textiles and energy-saving technology.

Choose cotton that cares

All cotton used in IKEA products is 100% sustainably sourced, including the new OTTSJÖN towels. They’re also super soft, absorbent and quick drying and come as a hand or bath towel.

Reduce waste with recycled materials

The new OTTSJÖN range also includes a smart shower curtain that’s made from recycled PET bottles. Each curtain contains just over four recycled water bottles, reducing the consumption of raw materials for a lower environmental footprint.

Save energy with a cold-start tap

Look for mixer taps with a cold-start function to save up to 30% energy. It means that when the lever is lifted straight up, only cold water is released. It’s only when it’s twisted round that water heating kicks in.

Shower smarter and waste less water

All IKEA showers and shower heads are made with a clever flow regulator that reduces the flow of water without reducing pressure, meaning your shower feels just as powerful and refreshing but uses up to 30% less water.

We love to see our customers get creative with our products. Go for it! But please note that altering or modifying IKEA products so they can no longer be re-sold or used for their original purpose, means the IKEA commercial guarantees and your right to return the products will be lost.
