All IKEA Canada stores are now open to customers nationwide. Please find details on opening hours and our enhanced safety measures below.

With health and safety as our top priority, we have implemented enhanced, preventative measures across the entire shopping experience and operations to ensure co-workers and customers feel safe to work and shop. Masks, covering both your nose and mouth, are mandatory inside all IKEA stores across the country.

All IKEA Canada stores are currently operating at limited capacity. We are also always open at IKEA.ca, serving the community through contactless Curbside Click & collect, remote planning services and home delivery.

As many of our Restaurants still remain closed, please check your local store page before you plan to dine with us.

Health and Safety

Our top priority continues to be the health and safety of our co-workers, customers and communities. Health and safety is our shared responsibility and we thank you for doing your part.

Enhanced Preventative Measures

• Physical distancing guidelines throughout the store, a minimum of 2-metres apart, including floor decals for lineups.

• Frequent sanitization and cleaning of units and surfaces, including carts (after every use).

• Personal protective equipment (PPE) for co-workers and separation screens around cash registers and customer service points.

• All stores are currently operating at limited capacity.

• Credit and debit are preferred to minimize cash handling.

• Hand sanitizer throughout and clear information on preventive hygiene methods to minimize the potential risk of infection.

• Preventative health and safety requirements for co-workers and third-party vendors.

Preparing for your Visit

• At this time, masks are now mandatory inside all IKEA stores across Canada.

• To ensure physical distancing, we recommend that you limit your shopping group to 2 people maximum.

• We are still seeing longer than normal line ups at our stores, please consider a non-peak time or later date to shop if your need isn’t immediate.

• Shopping tools are temporarily unavailable. Please bring your own tape measure and pencil if needed.

• Only touch or pick-up product that you intend to buy.

• To avoid long wait times, take advantage of our 365-day return policy and bring your products back at a later date.

• Plan your purchase in advance of your visit. Tip: create a shopping list online or via the IKEA App.

Temporarily Closed / Unavailable

• IKEA Restaurants remain closed in select markets. Please check your local store page before you plan to dine with us.

• All play areas, including Småland, will remain temporarily closed.

• Baby Room areas will remain temporarily closed.

• Replacement parts will be only be available online.

• To avoid non-essential visits, the Returns & Exchanges area may be closed or have limited hours in some of our stores. Please visit your local IKEA store website for the most up-to-date information.

    Q: How is IKEA creating a safe environment for co-workers and customers in its reopened stores?

    Working in line with recommendations from local governments and health authorities, IKEA has implemented enhanced, preventative health and safety measures across the shopping experience and operations to ensure co-workers and customers feel safe to work and shop. With a focus on physical distancing, preventative hygiene practices and rigorous cleaning and sanitization, new health and safety measures at IKEA stores include:

    • Strict physical distancing guidelines, a minimum of 2-metres apart, including floor decals for line-ups.
    • Mandatory masks for customers and co-workers.
    • All stores are operating at a limited capacity.
    • Frequent sanitization and cleaning of units and surfaces incl. carts (after every use).
    • Personal protective equipment (PPE) for co-workers.
    • Separation screens around cash registers and customer service points.
    • Hand sanitizer throughout and clear information on preventive hygiene methods to minimize the potential risk of infection.
    • Health and safety requirements for co-workers and third-party vendors, including a temperature check when they enter the building.
    • The children’s play area, Småland, remain closed.

    Q: When will IKEA reopen its Restaurant and Småland play area?

    Working in line with recommendations from local governments and health authorities, IKEA has implemented enhanced, preventative health and safety measures across the shopping experience and operations to ensure co-workers and customers feel safe to work and shop. As a result, children’s play area, Småland, will remain closed. As many of our Restaurants still remain closed, please check your local store page before you plan to dine with us. The IKEA Bistro will be open for takeout only in select stores. Please check your local store page for more details.

    We are evaluating and taking decisions based on the local situation and in close cooperation with local authorities. Above everything else, we want to reopen these areas in a responsible manner, when it is appropriate to do so.

Customer Support Centre
Our Customer Support Centre is now working on reduced hours of operation from 9 AM – 9 PM ET, 7 days a week. Given the current situation, our Customer Support Centre is experiencing higher than usual contact volumes. We ask that you contact us only if you currently have an open customer service file, if you need assistance placing an online order, assembly support, or assistance with navigation on our website at IKEA.ca.
