Enjoy the super comfy UPPLAND sofa with embracing feel and deep seat cushions made of pocket springs, high resilience foam and polyester fibres, adding both firm support and relaxing softness.
Reversible back cushions provide soft support for your back and two different sides to wear. Thanks to the combination of polyester fibres and cut foam the cushions will retain their shape and comfort year after year.
The cover is easy to keep clean since it is removable and can be machine washed.
A range of coordinated covers makes it easy for you to give your furniture a new look.

According to industry standards, a lightfastness level of 4 or higher is suitable for home use.This cover’s ability to resist abrasion has been tested to handle 55,000 cycles. 15,000 cycles or more is suitable for furniture used every day at home. Over 30,000 cycles means a good ability to resist abrasion.

Cozy Upright Great ValueKristyWe have the 3-seat Uppland in Kilanda light beige. Initially I found the fabric scratchy on my sensitive skin but having it for about 6 months now, it's softened. We had washed the fabric initially but haven't washed it since so I imagine it may continue to soften. The fabric has also loosened a bit on the sofa which I really like because I was going for a cozy look. Something that really drew us to this sofa was that it is more upright. We are in our 40's and have aging family and a low/deep style of sofa just wasn't working for us anymore. It's easy to get in and out of and is suitable for a range of body types. I like the firmness of the cushions - you can get comfy but you are not sinking into a cushion abyss. The price was fantastic and the removable covers are a massive plus!

Beautiful but uncomfortable ShawnI love the look of these sofas! I bought 2 for the living room of our new home.
Unfortunately the seat cushions are very hard and I had hoped that they would soften up with time but they have not. The sofa sits high off of the ground as well.
I think they are fine for sitting on occasionally when guests visit but not suitable for getting cozy and watching a movie with the family.
I was a bit disappointed.
Chemical odour KurteeI bought this sofa from IKEA about three months ago. The sofa itself is fairly comfortable to sit on, but there is a rather concerning issue – it has been giving off a chemical smell. The smell is similar to that of new clothes that haven’t been washed yet. At first, I thought it would dissipate quickly, but even after three months, it’s still there and remains very strong. Now I can’t return it, and I don’t know what to do. It’s not just the unpleasant smell but I’m worried it might be harmful to health.
Designed for 6 ft and over, Ektorp was betterMasoomaThis sofa is a very poor substitute for Ektorp. It’s too big and deep, Ektorp was the perfect size and was so comfortable. This seat depth of this sofa needs you to spend more money on cushions to reduce the depth to a comfortable size. I’m a petite person and it actually gave me back pain.
Doesn’t hold up ValerieBought an Uppland and it just doesn’t hold up . We continue to have back aches when sitting on this couch . I avoid it altogether because I know my back is going to hurt after 20 mins . Just doesn’t have the components to be a couch that you can count on for very long . Very disappointed as it looks nice but can’t even use it .

Uppland sofaEdithI did a lot of research on this sofa and wasn’t too sure after reading all the negative reviews. However, I am so happy I went ahead and ordered it! This sofa is so beautiful, very easy to assemble (I did it by myself) and very comfortable! It looks so cozy and inviting in my space and love that I can just toss the covers in the wash. I got the white covers and I am very impressed by the quality of them. It fits the sofa like a glove and it is soft. No bad odours whatsoever. I understand comfort is something personal, but my husband and I find it very comfortable. I would 100% recommend it!
Let me refute the bad reviewsLindsayFirstly, yes, it is much larger and deeper than the Ektorp. In fact it is not too dissimilar to The Big Comfy Couch. But this is a great thing. My two daughters and I sit sleepover style easily having movie and gaming marathons. You can sit criss cross applesauce and have an entire drawing evening. It’s great. Secondly, the cushions are very supportive. That is because each cushion is it’s own mattress, complete with springs, foam, and box. I had the Ektorp and the only foam cushions did not have the luxurious feeling that these do. It’s like sitting up in a new truck. The back is not low. It is high and supportive and doesn’t force your head and neck forward (5’6, 5’3, 5’9). One less star because it should be slightly better materials and made in either Sweden or Canada to be sold here.

Not worth itGillesWe purchased this couch 10 months ago and it fell apart. The leg broke while my son sat on it and this caused the frame to break. Contacted Ikea for warranty and after 1 month of back and forth, they are refusing to cover it. Very disappointed with what I used to think was an amazing company. We also paid extra for better fabric and it has pilled and really does not look good anymore. I can't believe that a company who's has quality and sustainability as 2 of their 5 ethos would ever sell this low of a grade of furniture. I think the most upsetting part is that the company is not willing to do anything about it and this will now go to the landfill. Not very sustainable in my opinion. Will think twice before buying seating, or any furniture really, again from IKEA.

Like many folks, we’ve had our Ektorp couches for about a decade and love them. Since they’ve been discontinued we chose to purchase the UPPLAND sofas for our living room.
A few thoughts on what folks don’t like about UPPLAND and why:
Large, thick, puffy cushions: Yes, they are thicker and bigger, but you’re also probably used to worn in Ektorp cushions. These will become more worn with time, though I don’t mind them out of the box. They’re comfortable.
Material: all the YouTube reviews I’ve seen of folks complaining about the material show beige or white covers. We bought the grey/green and they’re super soft. They don’t feel like cheap plastic or seem like they won’t last. We were pleasantly surprised, so consider all colours won’t feel the same.
Size: this is an upgrade from Ektorp, they’re not so apartment sized, but aren’t crazy big.
Overall great value for cost!
