SÖDERHAMN seating series allows you to sit deeply, low and softly with the loose back cushions for extra support.
Light, airy design with high legs and slim lines, yet still a great comfort thanks to the elastic weave in the bottom and high resilience foam in the seat cushions.
The sofa's sections can be used freestanding or combined in different ways to get a size and shape that suits you and your home.
If you need a larger sofa, you can add a section or two to your existing combination.
You can create your own perfect combination with the planning tool. Assemble, take apart and put together again until it’s just right.
The removable back cushions give your body support where needed. For example, place several behind your back for a more upright position or use them to make it comfortable when lying down and reading.
The depth of the sofa makes it perfect for relaxing or even taking a nice nap.
You can choose to use the sofa with or without armrests, depending on the expression you want to create.
The high legs make it easy to clean the floor under the sofa.
This cover is made of Tonerud, a soft polyester fabric with a felt look and a two-toned melange effect.
The cover is easy to keep clean since it can be machine washed and is easy to take off and put on again.

This cover’s ability to resist abrasion has been tested to handle 50,000 cycles. 15,000 cycles or more is suitable for furniture used every day at home. Over 30,000 cycles means a good ability to resist abrasion.The cover has a lightfastness level of 5 (the ability to resist color fading) on a scale of 1 to 8. According to industry standards, a lightfastness level of 4 or higher is suitable for home use.This seating furniture is tested and complies with relevant strength and durability standards. The tests simulate typical usage of the product and are based on use by persons weighing up to 110 kg.

Didn’t stand up to timeChristinaI bought this could with the lounge and arm rests a year ago. It’s already falling apart. The foam in the cushions is deteriorating and thinning. We hear so much flex in the wood, even with tightening the hardware. I’ve had an ikea couch before that lasted over 10 years with young children, but this one didn’t last even the year. I’m now going to have to replace my couch, which isn’t cheap. I always choose IKEA because the price is right and quality has never been an issue. Until now. Very disappointed in the quality, and heartbroken I spent so much on crap furniture.
WrinklyHyojuI chose the light gray color. It does not look good in my kitchen. And the cushions that comes with the sofa are wrinkly, and the cover is so small that this cannot cover the whole sofa frame. I was gonna buy $200 sofa instead of this. But I thought I would invest more for a better look. But now I am disappointed with this purchase.
Minor issues but mostly love it LauraPurchased this in 2018 in Finnsta turquoise. We changed the covers to Viarpe Beige in 2021. It's a lovely colour but my only gripe is that it's less durable than the turquoise one. The beige one pills and has thread pulls easier than the last fabric. The couch structure itself is still pretty good considering it's age. However we also purchased an additional section in 2021 and that seat is a bit saggy.

Quality has dippedDanBought one years ago and it was an awesome sofa. Bought another in 2022 and the quality has dipped substantially. Cushions lost shape within a month and it feels less stable. The zipper on the cover broke and had to be returned. The cushions losing shape has been the main issue, it makes the couch a lot less comfortable than prior iterations.

The quality is not what it used to beEkaterinaIt’s my favorite IKEA sofa, and it's not the first time I've bought this model. The delivery was smooth and fast, thank you! Unfortunately, when assembling the sofa, I noticed that the quality had deteriorated compared to the exact same sofa made several years ago. Although it is on the inside of the couch and does not affect the overall look, I was not very happy to get this quality considering the price of this couch. Plus, the price of it went up. The fabric is very nice and soft, but there are quality issues too, a lot of threads sticking out, the stitching itself is crooked. I rarely write reviews, but this time I was disappointed.
Pretty good CouchKourtneyThis couch is very comfortable and I like the design (although more options for cushion covers would be great). Removable and washable covers are so helpful. It feels strong.
I took a star away as the cushions zipped to the base move a lot. So you have to pull them back into place or you're sitting in a gap between them. As well, after I first washed the covers, they didn't fit properly on the cushions. The cushions look squeezed into the covers and sit funny as a result.

Really happy with this purchase!LauraI've had my Soderhamn sectional now for about 2-3 weeks and I like it. So far my only criticism is that the one spot I sit in a lot turns out to be right on top of the space between two of the cushions, and it's hard because of the bar underneath, and it pushes the two cushions farther apart, so I've had to put a blanket in that spot to create a comfort zone for me when sitting there. I love that I can take the covers off to wash, and the fabric seems very durable. It was easy to assemble, and I plan on purchasing a second set of covers for the future if I need to replace any piece or just want a change. I love the look of this sectional, it's pretty comfy and I also love that it's modular so it can fit a variety of spaces. I highly recommend.
Sofa bedPaymonThis sofa makes a really good bed actually. It's not the most comfortable for sitting but its good enough for me. It's light and sturdy and I like how it looks a lot.
