It's good and does a nice job to keeping the dog from sniffing the trash and grabbing items. Only problem is he has figured out how to knock it over and pull the lid off...the trash can looks good though.4

Works for us!BETTYWe bought this to keep our dogs out of the bathroom garbage. They love to shred paper. It’s got a sleek look, functions well (keeps our dogs out) and it’s nice to not have to look at garbage that’s piled up in the bin so that’s a lovely bonus we didn’t really expect but sure do appreciate.
I guess the only downside is if you push the lid too hard it can stick and stay open. But we are just mindful to push it down so no big deal.
Will be getting another for our other bathrooms.5
Lid doesn’t fit well, tarnishes easily, difficult to usePaula L.I have thrown this out. The lid is difficult to put back on after emptying. Bags don’t work with this style (which is gross). Flap is cumbersome. Tarnished easily and looked horrible after a year.2

Severn Trash CannBC8172020I bought this a week ago and have not had a chance to return it yet but I will this week. After discarding the plastic wrap I tried to assemble it and the lid was very difficult to fit onto the body of the trash can. This took quite alot of fiddling with it till it fit on so this design is very nice but the lack of quality control in how this product fits together when made is unfortunate and will be the reason we return it to the store.2
do not buy thisMikey G 44There are too many design flaws with this product. The finish is impossible to keep clean. The swinging lid is noisy. It is extremely hard to take the top off to empty the can and not possible to put a bag inside it. It's sleek looks are deceiving.1

Problem lidMelanieSssThe trash can is great apart from the lid. Emptying it with the lid on is disgusting and a pain in the you-know-what. After having put it on the first time, I realized my mistake and that it won't come off. After months of frustration regarding this trashcan, especially at this price, today I put WD-40 inside the lid, put one foot inside the empty trashcan, pulled with both hands on the lid and it came OFF. Now I'll have to figure something out so that it comes off everytime. BTW looking at the other reviews, not the only one to have that problem.3
