1 door will fit BILLY bookcase 15¾" and 2 doors will fit BILLY bookcase 31½".

Can be used on the corner unit only if the shelf next to it has no doors.

The door does not fit bookcases purchased in the spring of 2014 or earlier.

Door alignment is hardHaleemaDoors are hard to align as with all similar ikea products. Wish the instructions were better and I didn’t have to work this out through trial and error.4
Does not fit older Billy bookcasesDee605I needed to replace a door on my Billy bookcase and this one does not fit. It is too narrow and does not match the older one. I need to return it. IKEA making Billy products slightly smaller than they used to be.1
Bill bookcase and Oxberg glass panelled doorsMJ KarDelivered the next day following ordering- went together easily, doors require 2 people to install however and requirement alignment with the other bookcases if you are installing more than one bookcase as I was. One trick not mentioned in instructions- the doors do have a top & bottom so that the door knobs align-There is a sticker on the inside of the doors on the bottom of the door- so orient both doors the same way with sticker on the bottom.4

Incompatible, inferior constructionrowanfanThis door is INCOMPATIBLE with my Billy bookcases purchased a few years ago. There is no template to aid adaptation. Materials and construction are inferior to the BYOM door that this knock-off 'replaces' - right down to the nasty plastic knob. Also, beware opening the box - do not use a knife, however gently (there is no indication that a knife should not be used) because the cheap finish scores at the slightest touch.1

Material

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
