All around perfect, exactly what I was looking forKelly DEasy assembly, comes with instructions that has images to further help. It's space saving/space smart, easy to fold into couch and unfold into bed. It's most definitely worth for the price marked. Super comfortable, convenient, simple, chic, and worth!5
Extremely badNYDAMNI can't believe how poorly designed the NYHAMN is. I've been using it for over a year and it's been miserable from day 1. When you have it sitting up, it dips forward making you feel like you're falling off the whole time you're on it. When you lay it flat, it dips on both sides with a bulge in the middle which is very uncomfortable and if you lay/sit anywhere away from the middle, you once again feel like you're falling off. It also falls off the tracks very easily and is very fragile. Extremely uncomfortable to sit or lay on and really regret ever purchasing. Super embarrassed whenever I have someone over and they sit on it. Will be getting rid of it next time I move. Can't believe this is supposed to be the update to the BEDDINGE which was way better - just keep making the BEDDINGE instead. I definitely feel ripped off by Ikea.1
Bad sofa bedLeticiaACWe bought this sofa bed at ikea in Montreal 20 days ago. It already does not work well as a sofa. There is some bad part and it simply stopped working in the frame. Unfortunately we didn't keep the receipt. I don't recommend.1
Best for the priceSophia97My boyfriend and I used this as our sofa/bed for 11 months while we were living short term in a different city. To make it more comfortable for sleeping we also used a mattress pad and cover, but it's also doable without. Now, we just use it as our regular sofa and its still works great. A couple of the Velcro ties that keep the backing onto the frame are bad quality and have ripped off, but it was an easy fix. If you're looking for a cheap alternative to buying a mattress for a short term living situation this is the best option. It's also relatively easy to transport and very light.5
Don’t really know why people are complainingLucyBlu87Honest review ahead: The biggest issue we had was wondering if it would fit in our car or not. It didn’t. So if you have a Ford Focus hatchback or similar, the frame package is too long, it will hang out the back. We used a family members car (Fusion, if you’re wondering, and the trunk closed.) The futon itself can be a little irritating to assemble. Ours was because one of the posts was cross threaded but we managed to fix it. Long enough, when assembled, it could probably sleep someone who is 5’10” comfortably. VERY EASY TO USE. I’ve never had such ease with a futon going from sofa to bed. It catches properly to convert and revert. I’m super stoked about that. My boyfriend is currently sleeping on it, so I’m assuming it’s comfy to sleep on :D Love that we can buy different covers for it if we get bored of the grey. Yes, the seat is unusually wide when set up as a sofa. So you need to ask yourself how often you truly sit on the sofa with your feet flat on the floor. The back is very sturdy. No lean or shifting when leaning back on it. For our use, it was a good purchase.4
Excellent FutonScotland09Bought this when we had a guest staying. Very comfortable mattress, sturdy frame. Doesn't creak at all (as other ratings had suggested!) and love the colour of the cover. Would recommend!5
Save Your MoneyRobynnnnSO disappointed with this futon! It's uncomfortable and not worth the $400 and tax that I paid-- I would've paid $100 for it and then it would match the poor quality. It's noisy, creaky, and unsturdy. The mattress is NOT as thick as advertised, and I can feel the framework when I sit on it. I can't wait to just get rid of it and purchase a QUALITY futon elsewhere.1
Would not recommendad89I personally do not like this futon at all. I purchased it because I wanted something that could act as a bed when I had guests over. For that purpose, I suppose it is fine. But for it's purpose as an actual sofa/couch, I hate it. It's not comfortable at all to sit on, and the actual seat bit is far too deep, so even for an average sized person, your feet never touch the ground, if you want your back to be up against the back rest. If you do want your feet to touch the ground, then your back won't be against the backrest (unless you want to sit with absolutely terrible posture), so you might aswell be sitting on a stool. You just cannot get comfortable sitting on this as a couch. I pretty much never use it, and it just sits in my living room and every time I see it I'm annoyed I bought it. I wish I had just bought a normal couch that was actually comfortable to sit on.1
Frame brokeDee93I love the look of the futon and the color of the cover. However, it wasn't long after I got it when the metal frame started to tear at the front middle bit where you sit when it is set as a couch. Now the frame is completely broken, but I'm way past the return policy unforunately.1
DisappointingmtldadI thought this was an update to the discontinued BEDDINGE, which was a great sturdy full size sofa-bed. But NYHAMN is more a poor copy than an advancement. The legs extend so far behind that you get a weird gap when you put it up a wall, the seat cushion extends to far beyond the frame for a saggy front lip, the cover doesn't fit very well and is also sagging around.2
Very comfortable!Daria1990I bought this sofa four months ago and very pleased with it. The matress is very comfortable and not too soft. Also the best part is that it does not have a space in the middle how some of them, it is just on full mattress. However easly functional and affordible. Planning to buy second one for another room.5
Great futon!Ikea321I bought this for our den to be used a seating, and a spare bed when needed. For the price, it looks great and is fairly comfortable (have not slept on it). It was simple for one person to put together and switches from bed to seating very easily. The removable (interchangable) cover is what sold it for me.5
