Great bulbs but less than expected lifespanELIZABETHReplaced all my track lighting with these just before the pandemic and now two have already burnt out. They are normally only on for a few hours each day so lifespan seems a bit short to me. My experience with other IKEA bulbs has been much better. These do have a warm colour which I especially like as they add warm ambiance to the rooms which is relaxing. Hope they figure this out.4

It"s a lightbulbPHIIt's an LED light and it turned on once I installed it in the lamp. Meets my expectations for such a device.5

Intermittent blinkingECRCI wish I had read recent reviews before purchasing. This bulb has serious issues when dimmed. Goes back and forth between low and full light creating a blinking effect. Basically unusable unless at 100%. Given the low price point, I suspect this is an ongoing issue but IKEA may not be fully aware if they aren’t being returned. I know I’d rather forget about the $3 and order from Amazon rather than going back to the store to return it. Don’t test your luck!1
Defective bulbs with short lifeAC2020I bought five of these for my IKEA kitchen spotlight, but one of the five bulbs is now dimming to 20% and then back to 100% intermittently every 20 seconds or so. Very annoying. My usage has been approx 24 hours in total so this defect is inexcusable. It isn’t the money, it’s the time to have to replace it now.1
Had 2/5 bulbs fail within 18 months.M2025Bought these to go with the ikea kitchen light fixture summer '18. 2 of the five lights have now failed - they go to 25% power and then come back to 100% randomly. Based on how long we keep them on and their hourly rating, they should last at least 20 years.1
warm ledwarjafizonI would like the choices for colour temperature to be more extensive. The reason for this is that there is often other lighting in the room that would not match that well. So for example having a choice of warm or cool would be preferred.4

Brighter Gu10 lightingGypsieMy kitchen GU10 LED's from an earlier era were looking dull and making the kitchen dark. The new Ikea 600 lumen ones however added a new life to my kitchen lighting. This product is good if you like hot spots of light. I am partial to spotlight type of lighting.4
easy to replace the old one!Connie326didn't know how to change the light bulb since I bought the light, thanks to the Shop Assistant to show me how easy it is4

Basic and FunctionalSly NicI am replacing all my lights to LED. This is a good light that throws consistent and bright light.5
Yellow lighting.Winnipeg shopperVery poor light. It’s yellow in color. I have lower lumen Gu10 lights that are much brighter than these.1
Warm and comfyKenwal5I bought these lights on the recommendation of my son. I replaced all of my Par20 lights. Fortunately I was able to get new trim and adapters for the GU10 from Halo lights at Home Depot. The lights are amazing, I now only need to have my dimmers at half setting to get a nice warm light in my rooms5

It shouldn't be a luxury to live life in a sustainable way. That's why we at IKEA have decided to earn close to nothing on our bulbs called LEDARE, so we can have as low a price as possible.

LEDARE is a series of bulbs made with LED technology and compared to traditional incandescent bulbs they use up to 80% less energy. That makes a pretty big difference on an electric bill. And if you save energy, you save both your own and the earth's resources. We want everyone to be able to do that and high prices shouldn't get in the way! Don't low-energy bulbs do enough? Yes, low-energy bulbs are just as good at saving energy. But LED bulbs don't contain mercury, which is an extra plus for the environment and makes it easier for you to recycle. But right now you don't have to think about recycling. LEDs last for about 20,000 hours, which is the equivalent of 3 hours a day for 20 years!

The LED bulb combines all the good qualities of both traditional incandescent bulbs and low-energy bulbs. LEDs light up quickly with full brightness, use less energy, and can be used in clear glass for more decorative light sources. They give exactly the same Kelvin value as traditional incandescent bulbs.

What is a Kelvin value? Well, when we develop bulbs for home use, there are a few things that are important to think about. All our LED lights have 2700 Kelvin, which is exactly the same as a traditional incandescent bulb. The light is described as warm-white, which is the light most of us find comfortable in our homes. All bulbs at IKEA also have a CRI value over 90. That might not say that much to you, but it has to do with creating a light that represents colors accurately. None of us want to appear as if we have green skin, do we? Which would happen if the CRI value were under 80. That's why our suppliers choose only the diodes that have exactly these values, neither more nor less, when they manufacture light bulbs like LEDARE, or lamps with built-in LEDs.

Just because prices are low on LED bulbs doesn't have to mean that the light is so bad that people are uncomfortable in it. After all, we want to create a better everyday life at home. And preferably one that's sustainable, too!
