The slim design with clean lines makes the lighting easy to place wherever you like in the home, even inside bathroom cabinets and drawers.

Suitable for use in confined spaces, such as cabinets and closets, as the LED light source only emits low heat.

The sensor reacts to your body movements at a distance of 1.5 m and automatically turns the light off after 60 seconds, should you forget to close the door or drawer.

With new, fully charged LADDA AA 2450 mAh rechargeable batteries, one charging will last approx. 60 days if the lighting strip is used 5 minutes per day.

For the lighting to work, it must be positioned in place with the sensor facing you.

The LED indicator blinks when charging and shines with a steady light when the batteries are fully charged.

Built-in LED light source that lasts approx. 25,000 hours.

Batteries should be handed in for recycling in accordance with local environmental regulations for waste disposal.

Nice little lightCarolThis light is exactly what I was looking for but the batteries don’t last long at all. Even though they are recharging it’s such an inconvenience I wish this had the option to either utilize batteries or the option of using a plug in. I’m disappointed sadly now I have to go purchase more batteries and a charger That’s not a problem but I wish I had the option to plug in the light instead of the batteries.4
beautiful lightTszthe light itself is functional and beautiful. battery life is relatively disappointing.. i guess the motion sensor is eating the battery.. now that it seems ikea has removed the 27" with only 12 and 20 available.. not sure if it's about the battery? i need the longer one though4
Terrible Battery LifeHenryThe lights are great and the motion sensor works perfectly, but the batteries would not last even a week before needing to be recharged, even with the IKEA Ladda 2450. Even worse, the lights won't work while they are being recharged.2
Way too sensitiveAndrewUnfortunately, I have to update my review. These were great at first, but now I find some are just staying on all night. I wish there was a way to adjust the sensitivity of them. I just find I have to constantly charge them or manually turn them off. 1
Battery drainerRobinLove this light but … it drains batteries VERY quickly. In a closet or pantry super useful and seems to last longer. Tried them on the auto setting under my kitchen cabinets and they do not last long. I know they’re rechargeable and that’s great but having to do it so often seems to defeat the purpose. 3

More than I was expectedAnonymous reviewerI bought this for my washer machine room as the developer did not bother to put light in it, and move machine out just to get a light plug in is too much work for one person. I mount it with adhesive and screw, only took about 1 minutes and there it is, no wire, no switch, all auto. The manual was a little bit confusing, I thought it works with either battery or USB power, but then I realize that it suppose to use rechargeable AA batteries and leave them in, plug in to USB to charge it once its empty, which explains why it is difficult to remove battery door, they are not meant to be removed so often. Odd thing is that I bought the longest version which needs 4 AA batteries, but also works with only 2 insert, I guess those two battery compartment are connected parallel. Only one complain is that they only come with 2700K, which is too warm to me, I would prefer 5000K light color.4
Works wellJessicaGot this to replace the Stotta that wouldn't turn on when I opened the closet and stopped working altogether after a year. This light is working just as expected and the sensor is very responsive. Had it for a month now and I'm so pleased with it. Installation was very simple, though opening the battery cover requires a flathead which is a little inconvenient, but I haven't had to change them yet.5
No wires!AndrewI bought 9 of these lights in various sizes for my closet. I like that these take rechargeable batteries and if they wear out over the years you can just swap them out, much better than an integrated battery that will wear out. The only problem is the battery compartment needs a flat head small screw driver to open. But these have a USB-C charge port on the side which makes popping them off to recharge not required. The sensors work well, when I open the closet door they all turn on, then shut off after about a minute of no movement. So if you leave the closet open they'll just turn off on their own without draining the batteries. Bottom line is NO WIRES! Installation is simple, use the sticker inserts to line up the light (screw helps line up the sticker) pop it off and use the screw to make it permanent. Popping them on and off is also very easy. Definitely recommend to anyone! Ikea, bring the grey version to Canada!5

My goal with KÖLVATTEN battery-operated lighting was to create a cordless lamp that is easy to install, use and charge with a standard USB-C cable, regardless of whether it sits in a wardrobe or in a drawer. The shape follows the function to create space for the batteries and the correct angle for the LED light, without looking too technical. I hope you appreciate the simplicity of the lamp.
