Another Great Product from IkeaDonaldAs always, item is as we thought it would be. Look great in the kitchen.5
DisappointedDisappointed PurchaseI bought this product because the reviews rates it 4 star. However, I am wrong. This product was a real wood countertop, but changed to laminate less than 1 year ago. This product received 5 star reviews when it was real wood. The laminate version, as ikea is selling now, is likely a 2 star product. I am very disappointed with this product. The 4 star review misled me. If give me one more chance, definitely goes with a real wood one or granite. With this expensive price, there is no market for this product.1
Great countertopIzziewizzieSo happy with this!!! We bought it for our Island and it fit perfectly and matches the countertop in our kitchen perfectly.5
Good from far, far from good.Matt_CalgaryWe installed these counter tops in our home in July 2019 as part of a full kitchen renovation. Ikea cabinets, counter tops and sink. So at this point we're at about 9 months of steady use. Family of 4, which includes 2 kids under 3. Overall, we were very pleased with the ease of installation and initial visual appeal. Unfortunately, 9 months of use has been enough to provide an initial assessment of quality. Which, sadly, is quite poor. The wood is simply not hard enough for use as a counter top. We now have upwards of 25+ gouges, dents and scratches in various locations, and many of them are deep enough that a light sand/ re-finish of the counter top would not do away with them. We're extremely careful about using cutting boards for anything and everything, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. It's a shame, since the cabinets are holding up VERY well (and cabinet hardware - hinges, etc. are excellent). If we could do it again, we would most definitely go with a harder wood counter top, and verify the durability with some more in-store abuse, mimicking daily household use.2
Poor qualityAv423Is not a solid core if you cut it you have to apply a fake sticker that looks like wood. Also cane with a large bow in the middle making island unlevel. Contact customer support and they said I would have to remove the counter top and deliver to them for a refund. Very disappointed1
this new veneered stock is not good. Avoid !nigelgommI had Karlby countertops from several years ago and loved them; so when i had to re-model the kitchen i bought it again. But this new version is not good.; it's a veneer rather than the solid wood of before which means when you cut you have an exposed particle filling. The idea is that you then apply an edging strip..... but it doesn't look great to begin with and first time it got wet it expanded and bubbled away from the edge. The veneer itself has more blemishes than I would have hoped for (and many more than the solid version) - i know it's a natural product and there will be irregularities, part of the charm, but, trust me, these are blemishes..1
Gorgeous Countertop!!JayEhKayI bought two of these for the kitchen that I was renovating and they look amazing! The price was great, especially since I was on a budget, and they were easy to seal with a topcoat for no maintenance countertops (normally you would have to apply oil but I didn't want future tenants to worry about it). I love them and no one can believe the price I paid!5
I dont understandI baught few mount ago and I lile5
Beautiful CountertopMamaBearYYCWe purchased this a few months ago to make a custom extra long desk workspace. It is fantastic! We purchased plastic clear covers at staples to protect the wood. We mounted 4 IKEA desk legs to the corners and an Alex drawer unit for the middle. This has been a great addition to our home. Very functional and beautiful. We have had nothing but compliments. The staff at IKEA recommended purchasing the oil treatment to protect the wood. If we were using the countertop in a kitchen setting we would have. But as a desktop we felt it didn’t need it. The countertop did come with a piece of sticky wood laminate if you needed to cut it down so you could cover the cut. Overall it has held up great and we have highly recommended this purchase to everyone who asks.5
Perfect Island CountertopHails33I looked around for weeks for a wood counter top that wasn’t overly expensive for my small renovation. Bought this one to make a narrow island in my condo kitchen. Had to cut it down about 4 inches in length and it cuts very well. It looks amazing, is easy to clean and adds a nice warm touch to my kitchen.5
MANINBLACKThis countertop is amazing.5
Used as a desk top, absolutely perfectNick EI may be biased, since white oak is my favorite hardwood, but I absolutely love the appearance. Sturdy, had it for about 6 months now and no warps or bends. Have it elevated ontop of two Alex drawers with short capita legs.5
