Nice lookingBRENDAThere were two types of lid offered with the container. A plastic one with flaps and this bamboo one. It was a little more expensive than the plastic one but is a lot more attractive. It offers a nice seal and I believe will last longer than the plastic one if it doesn't go in the dishwasher.5

Pretty and goodGAYLEI was surprised to find a bamboo lid for a storage container, but like it more every day. It should last much longer than the usual platinum lids - which have a definite shelf life - and it is biodigradable. Another really good idea from IKEA!5
GoodSUSAN I.I just purchased a replacement lid for my one of my containers. The quality is ok but I have had and seen and had products that have better construction and lasting power.3
Love these container topsDonna L.Love these container tops2
Extremely poor quality lidsBrandon K.The 365 Tupperware is really nice but the lid flaps don't last long, making the remaining containers useless. Not very earth minded when they don't last. I regret buying several.1

Sustainable life at home

Helps you take care of food – and the planet

Around the world, a lot of food unnecessarily goes to waste every year. That's why we decided to contribute to reducing food waste by making it easier for people to store and take care of their food at home. We visited families in several countries to find out what they need and then developed the IKEA 365+ series for food storage. The series is flexible products that you can combine as you like and it makes it easier for you to store, save and take care of your food.

IKEA 365+ Lid, rectangular/bamboo

Helps you take care of food – and the planet

If you want to reduce food waste but sometimes think it’s a bit of a pain to take care of your food, this might help. IKEA 365+ food storage products make it easier to store, save and bring food with you on the go. To get to know more about peoples’ needs, we visited families in several countries. We found out that it’s all about versatility and simplicity.

You've just put leftovers after eating into a food container, but can't find a lid that fits. Or maybe you've put a food container in the fridge with food in it, but you can't see what's inside the food container and completely forget about the food. These were things we heard time and time again when interviewing families about their experiences. “We wanted to develop products to make this easier,” says David Granath, a product developer who has worked with the project. “They should be simple and flexible. And easy to combine and use in ways that suit every household.”

No extra work

“It can involve things like using the same food container for several steps and just changing the lid. There shouldn't be any unnecessary extra work along the way,” says David. Transparent containers increase the chances that the food is consumed. And it must be easy to adapt the containers to serve different needs. “People asked for a coherent system for food storage. Not complicated special gadgets, yet rather simple and straightforward products that can be used often.”

Smart and super simple

The IKEA 365+ food containers and lids can be combined and also come in different materials and sizes. They are super simple – and that's the point. “We've put a lot of work into them, for example by seeing to it that all the different parts fit together. But the product itself is simple in a smart way.” We can't solve the entire food waste problem – but we can make it possible for everyone to be part of the solution.

Winner of GOOD DESIGN 2018

The IKEA 365+ series for food storage has been awarded one of the world's finest design awards – GOOD DESIGN. The flexible products are based on a unique platform concept with containers and lids in different sizes that can be combined in many ways. This makes it easier for you to take care of, store and find leftovers – and bring them with you on the go, while at the same time reducing unnecessary food waste. Good for the environment and for your wallet!
