The food container is made of oven-safe glass and can be used as an oven/serving dish.

The lid creates a vacuum when placed on a container ‒ keeping the food fresh longer and helping the food retain both heat and coolness.

The lid can be used to protect from splatter in the oven and the microwave.

Wash the lid in the dishwasher and use it again and again, as this helps you reduce the amount of plastic and aluminum foil you use.

The container is made of glass, which does not absorb odors or discolor from tomato sauce, etc, so the food container is easy to clean.

Warning: Not oven safeAbdolrezaThese are NOT oven safe containers and the qulity of these or nothing comparable to Corning and Pyrex. This is the SECOND container we bought and broke (exploded) with a mild temprature change. These do not tolerate temprature changes or mild impacts when hot. Very dangerous indeed. Get a Pyrex or Corning instead. IKEA must stop selling or advertise these as oven safe containers.1
