Product details

A wall-mounted TV unit creates a clean, airy look and there are no legs that get in the way when you vacuum the floor.

It’s easy to keep the cords from your TV and other devices out of sight but close at hand, as there are several cord outlets at the back of the TV bench.

The cable outlet at the top lets cords run down smoothly into the TV bench.

The shelves are adjustable so you can customize your storage as needed.

You can choose to use either the soft-closing or push-open function. The push-opener lets you open the doors with just a light push, while the soft-closing hinges makes sure they close silently and softly.

Optimise and organise your BESTÅ storage with boxes and inserts that you like.

  • We recommend a TV bench to be a bit wider than the TV placed on it. This TV bench suits a TV up to 72 inches. You can choose a larger TV if it’s not heavier than the specified max load for the bench’s top.

The top panel of the TV bench is intended for a TV with a maximum weight of 50 kg.

If you choose the soft closing function for your BESTÅ, we recommend complementing the fronts with knobs/handles to make the drawers/cabinets more convenient to open.

Due to the design of HANVIKEN, knobs/handles can only be mounted in the outer frame of the door/drawer front, not in the center part.

The max. load for a wall-hung TV bench depends on the wall material.

Different wall materials require different types of fasteners. Use fasteners suitable for the walls in your home.

If you are uncertain about what type of mounting devices to use, please contact your local hardware store.

Ratings and reviews

Bracket provided don’t align with studMANICKBesta is good as a floor unit. But if you decide to put it on the wall the bracket provided by IKEA don’t align with stud. Checked the internet and it’s same for all folks. You have to hack with bracket to put it on the wall. IKEA if you are reading this pls fix it.3
Besta believe it’s awesome!GiustinaI love the look, sleek, modern and simple!5
Good product.MARTIGood product.5
Looks great, mounting was awfulChristineThis piece is meant to be mounted to the wall but was not designed with standard stud spacing in mind. If you do not secure this to studs, you are asking for a dangerous nightmare. Thankfully we had access to an unfinished side of the wall in the location where we chose to mount it, so we were able to add additional 2x4's to ensure the mount holes in the cabinet would be lining up with solid material, and not just drywall. I would recommend it as it looks great, but needs to be assembled by someone with some intermediate experience.4
Perfect for my vinylCYRENaI am really happy with the Besta. I needed something that could store my vinyl, while being a slim fit under my 65" television. Looks great. Very simple to put together, apart from the doors. They are fairly straight forward too, but spent some time getting them adjusted perfectly.5
Great show home look!AlexeyGreat unit if wall mounted! Look slim but spacious! Mounting mechanism should be rail, current one is not the best, but can be worked around. Use YouTube and find out how to hang it! I have put the box underneath the unit when I was hanging it, so it was easy to do by myself. Absolutely mandatory to find studs. To heavy to be alone in drywall. Buy long and heavy duty anchors!!!! Nothing is more important. IKEA, use a rail system to wall mount it, current system is absurd for the weight of the unit!5
Hinges are not strong enough to hold doorsCraig17Once it was put together I altered the alignment of the doors as much as the bracket would allow and yet each door still had significant sag to it. I had to end up removing the doors. I absolutely would not recommend the product.1
Safety HazardSarazeeWe bought this product about 8 months ago and as it was directed in the assembly booklet assembled it to the wall. Today it fell off the wall. There are two major problems: 1) the booklet doesn’t even specify using anchors for this product and simply shows screws. 2) in our case both me and my husband are quite familiar with these kinds of assemblies and used strong anchors. But even that didn’t help. We have been working from home due to COVID-19 and it just happened that it decided to fall today. Otherwise I would have been severely injured or even died. Please be very careful when buying and assembling this product to the wall. Maybe even look for studs in the wall and try to screw some of the screws trough the studs for extra assurance.1

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA we believe that sourced in a responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fibreboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
