AVSKILD Place matSquintyWe bought these a couple of months ago and a couple of them have already broken. They are too thin to handle any kind of wear and tear.1
Excellent place matTng6690Brought the place mat before Christmas to replace my cotton place mat, excellent value5
Smell and break easilyLisaA123You get what you pay. Cheap, strange smell, don't keep their form very well and one already ripped after a few uses.1

TC03This is the best product I’ve bought for a table mat5
Renewable resource, disposable productI want my oak backToo thin. Stain easily. Break easily just putting them in drawer. Not suitable for placemats. May be useful for something else if you don't handle them much.1
AgnezaLooks great on my sons desk5

Simple yet pretty placematsPinkology StudioThese are great. Simple and beautiful, protects your table and is a nice thickness. I also use these in my photoshoots as backdrop for my goods.5
very useful cork placematsSusangoogleI buy these all the time and will cry if Ikea every stops selling them! They can be sponged off but if they become too stained they can be cut up and used for all sorts of things. ie: table protectors under a table-cloth, table coverage for craft projects, canvases for kids to paint5

flimsy place matLT22I expected a hard board made of cork, but got a flimsy placemat and the material on the edges easily ripped off.1

Material

What is cork?

Cork comes from cork oak bark which is carefully cut from the tree’s trunk. It then takes about nine years until the tree forms new bark that can be harvested. Since a cork oak can live to be aged 150-200, each one produces a lot of cork during its lifetime. Cork has several good qualities as a material: it’s lightweight, flexible, waterproof and naturally resists fire. The cork we use in furniture and accessories is made from cork waste that’s compressed into larger pieces.
