However once set up on the night with people moving around them wax was dripping everywhere. Not as messy as regular candles could have been but made quite the mess in the end.3

Lovely for dinner candlesWendy AThese candles are not white - they are a lovely off white to cream, just as they were in the 80's to 90's. (Don't recall the name but I still have two in candlesticks). A great height for tall candlesticks. Just did a test run of one candle. Definitely no smoke, no drips and no odour that I can smell. Burning out of draughts, it has burnt for 2 hrs. 20 mins., and there are still 12 cms. left of the candle so expecting at least 3 1/2 to 4 hrs burning time. They do burn with a tall flame and long wick. Also noticed a slight flaring at the top of the actual candle, of no consequence but did not see this in the older IKEA candles of the exact size. Excellent value compared with German candles on the market (that smoke horribly!).5

What is stearin?
