BASTUA Bench towel, blue/green,
How to get it
Pamper yourself! This soft bench towel offers a lovely spa feeling and is just as nice to lie on as to sit on in the sauna. The pattern is jacquard-woven and visible in the inverted colours on both sides.Article number905.447.09
A bench towel is perfect to have in the sauna since it protects you from heat and the benches from sweat, moisture and dirt.
Nice to lie on if you want to stretch out – and just as nice to sit on with the upper part behind your back and the lower part under your feet.
The decorative pattern is visible on both sides, with inverted colours, since the towel is jacquard-woven.
You can also use the towel as a decorative table runner.
The cotton/lyocell blend gives you a strong, silky-smooth material. Both fibres are soft, breathable and absorbent. Lyocell, made from wood pulp, is especially good at absorbing moisture from your skin.

After washing, the pattern of the bench towel becomes more raised and textured.

BASTUA – sauna isn’t just a place, it’s a feeling
Inspired by nature and the self-care rituals of Nordic sauna culture, the BASTUA collection combines IKEA home furnishing knowledge with Marimekko’s iconic print design in products for wellbeing inside and outside the home, made from simple, natural materials. It’s a collaboration with a truly Nordic spirit, offering a shared opportunity to live boldly, joyfully and well. What’s more, this is the first time that Marimekko has ever designed patterns especially for a collaboration.
“I loved the small sauna cabin that my grandparents had in eastern Finland, and I can still remember how wonderful it was as a child to touch the grey surface of the carved log walls with my fingers. The pattern for the BASTUA collection is inspired by the soft, curved cuts of these logs, but can also be perceived as a Finnish landscape where the sky meets the lake's surface on the horizon when you look out from the terrace of your summer cottage’s sauna.”
