The Votes Are In!
Congratulations to the 40 ‘Life Improvement Challenge’ winners… and thanks to our IKEA US customers and co-workers for their overwhelming support.

This is the 4th year of the IKEA Life Improvement Challenge; a program in which IKEA US customers & co-workers vote on a charity who will win a complete makeover including IKEA products & design expertise. Additionally, runner ups will win gift cards.

After weeks of tremendous voting support, the 40 charities have been selected. These charities help make a difference in each of their communities, and IKEA is pleased to be a part of making them warm, welcoming and functionally attractive.

Thank you for your support and know that these charities do as well.

IKEA Sunrise has a solar energy system!
As part of our commitment to sustainability, IKEA has installed a solar energy system atop this store. The 101,774-square-foot array consists of a 1,057-kW system, built with approximately 4,368 panels.

The IKEA Sunrise solar program produces approximately 1,554,600 kWh of clean electricity annually - the equivalent of reducing 1,181 tons of carbon dioxide, eliminating the emissions of 210 cars or powering 134 homes yearly.

Creating a Better Everyday!

The IKEA global vision is to “create a better everyday life for the many.” To this end, we have a long-standing collaborations with UNICEF, Save the Children and American Forest, to impact the health, safety, education and well-being of children in need, as well as minimizing our impact to the environment.

At IKEA Sunrise we support:

● Young At Art Museum A unique, hands-on museum that shifts the paradigm of arts education from learning about art to using art for learning. They proudly provide our community a hands-on cultural, educational and arts experiences for youth and adults that awaken their creativity in a fun and enriching environment.

● Junior Achievement, a non profit organization that provides business, economics, and life-skills programs to enhance the education of young people

IKEA takes great pride in collaborations like these that help support neighbors in the local community where our co-workers and customers live and work. If you are an established non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) status with a local reach, and would like to be considered on our Community Relations Program, download the IKEA Sunrise Community Support Guidelines Application and complete accordingly.

Please note that applications will be taken into consideration for funding beginning August 2014. Due to the high number of donation requests we receive, we may not respond to all submissions. Thank you for understanding.
