Massive Rooftop Solar Array
The sun is out a lot more this time of year and at IKEA Portland we're trying to put it to good use with our 62,500 square foot solar array on the roof! It consists of a 497.3-kW system, built with approximately 2,072 panels. IKEA Portland's solar program will produce approximately 568,900 kWh of clean electricity annually - the equivalent of reducing 432 tons of carbon dioxide, eliminating the emissions of 77 cars or powering 48 homes yearly.
IKEA Portland is also LEED Certified. LEED is an acronym of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. Created by the US Green Building Council, LEED measures green building performance. Plus, you can charge your EV at IKEA Portland in one of two charging spaces.
