Local Community Support
The IKEA vision globally is to “create a better everyday life for the many.” At IKEA Orlando, we are dedicated to striving toward achieving that vision in our store and our local community.
IKEA Orlando is proud to support selected not for profit organizations in the following areas: Children and the Environment.
Because our resources are limited, IKEA Orlando has defined initiatives that we do NOT support. Traditionally, they include: fundraising events; third party groups raising funds for charities; requests for IKEA Orlando to solicit donations from customers; requests benefiting one person or family; religious (or for religious purposes), political or labor/fraternal organizations; sports related groups or activities; individuals or groups seeking assistance or participating in contests and competitions; non-academic programs including clubs, troops, band competitions or summer camps; organizations that are not open to all members of the community; foundations, capital campaigns or endowment programs; partnerships that involve IKEA Orlando distributing literature or any other objects, items, materials to coworkers or customers on company property at any time; and advocacy or research groups.
Please note that due to the high number of donation requests, we are unable to take or return phone calls regarding donations. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
How we choose our partners:
In order to maximize impact in the local community, IKEA Orlando will focus on:
•Projects that fit well with the IKEA Vision.
•Projects where we can make a meaningful difference.
•Programs where we can use IKEA’s expertise and products to help organizations achieve their missions.
•Programs that promote diversity and include as many people/children as possible.
•Organizations registered as a nonprofit/charity (IRS 501(c)3 documentation required). Governmental programs, including public schools are eligible under IRS code.
Inquiries for support are accepted year round. Support determinations are based on the availability of resources, program and project fit and the organization’s reach. If your organization and project fit within the above guidelines, please follow these steps:
1. Submit a one-page letter of inquiry describing your organization, the project and support request. Attach a copy of your organization’s IRS 501(c)3 documentation letter. Please include key contact name, phone and e-mail.
2. Mail submission to IKEA Orlando.
