Ronald McDonald House Life Improvement Challenge Winner 2015
Ronald McDonald House and IKEA
The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island (a.k.a. “The House that Love Built”) has been serving families in their New Hyde Park chapter for over 30 years. Their mission is to give comfort and shelter to families experiencing the pain of having a sick child in local hospital facilities. A “home-away-from-home”, the House provides the parents and siblings of these children with a temporary haven

in a secure and comfortable environment among other families sharing a similar burden. This magical house has undergone a complete makeover in the resident locations over the past 2 years, but their office area, where the volunteers and office managers work, was in need of a little love. In March 2015, they won the IKEA Life Improvement Challenge. We created a space in collaboration with them that now allows them to welcome families, donors, volunteers and staff in a more pleasant space. It was a joy and pleasure to work with the amazing people at the Ronald McDonald House. We are so happy they are part of our IKEA Family now.
