Swedish Crayfish Party
Imagine a mild late summer evening. Friends gathered around a table set outdoors with bright red crayfish, bread, cheese, shrimps and various pies. And as the sun sets slowly, candles are lit and paper lanterns glow in the increasing darkness. Everyone is wearing paper hats and bibs, singing merry songs to accompany the snaps.

The Votes Are In!
Congratulations to the 40 ‘Life Improvement Challenge’ winners… and thanks to our IKEA US customers and co-workers for their overwhelming support.

This is the 4th year of the IKEA Life Improvement Challenge; a program in which IKEA US customers & co-workers vote on a charity who will win a complete makeover including IKEA products & design expertise. Additionally, runner ups will win gift cards.

After weeks of tremendous voting support, the 40 charities have been selected. These charities help make a difference in each of their communities, and IKEA is pleased to be a part of making them warm, welcoming and functionally attractive.

Thank you for your support and know that these charities do as well.

IKEA Emeryville Community Support Guidelines
At IKEA, our mission is to create a better everyday life for the many. IKEA Emeryville works to do this in our community by supporting local non-profit organizations that work to help children and the environment. Most recently, IKEA Emeryville has donated to the following organizations:

● Education for Change Oakland
● Save the Bay
● Oakland Museum of California
● Scandinavian School of San Francisco
● Rising Sun Energy Center
● George Miller Center
● City Slicker Farms

Our community support guidelines and application can be viewed on the link below. Due to the overwhelming number of donation requests, our giving is very focused. The guidelines will help determine if your organization is a fit with our giving policy. Please understand that although your organization may fit one or more of the requirements, it is not a guarantee that your request will be honored.

Priority will be given to local community initiatives where the IKEA store is located. A completed community support application is required for consideration. Please include an email address with your application. Correspondences will be via email only. Thank you.
