Follow our co-workers’ journey!
IKEA believes in improving opportunities for children and their families. Several co-workers are traveling to rural West Virginia to visit Save the Children literacy programs funded by IKEA USA.
Save the Children Early Steps to School Success Program The Early Steps to School Success program currently works in eight communities in five counties serving 3,197 children. The program lays a critical foundation of language, literacy skills, and social and emotional development for children from birth to age five. This includes home visits, book exchanges, parenting groups and an emphasis on transition to school, including equipping parents and caregivers with the skills to successfully support children’s growth. Our co-worker will witness first-hand how this program funded by IKEA USA is helping children. Follow our co-workers’ journey on our new Instagram account @IKEAUSAjourneys!
Creating a better life for people and our communities
IKEA Easy Palo Alto Community Support Guidelines
At IKEA we believe the most important people in the world are children. That's why we've focused our efforts on making our community a better place for the children in it. This past year we've donated over $53,000 to local charities. We donated over $30,000 worth of funiture to Inn Vision Shelter Network, which contributred to home furnishing in three of their Silicon Valley temporary shelters.

During the Holiday season we run a Soft Toys for Education campaign and raised over $36,000 for UNICEF for children's education. We also encouraged customer to donate a soft toy to our local charities Job Train located in Menlo Park, and East Palo Alto Library for their Winter holiday events.

This year customers voted during our yearly Life Improvement Challenge, and Building Futures Now, an after school college track program located in East Palo Alto, was the lucky recipient of a makeover at their after school center. Our last campaign this fiscal year focused on raising funds for The Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties where we raised over $8,000 and enough to create over 16,000 meals in our community.

This are just a handful of the projects we've been working. We hope that you keep your eyes peeled while visiting us this upcoming holiday season and contribute a future campaign!
