Social & Environmental Efforts & Events
Our IKEA vision is to create a better everyday life for the many. To this end, we have long-standing partnerships with UNICEF, Save the Children and American Forest to impact the health, safety, education and well being of children in need, as well as, minimizing our impact to the environment.
Within the Los Angeles market, we partner with local schools and community organizations with a focus on children’s learning and the environment.
Please note that our local community support budget is committed for this fiscal year, and we are not accepting any new requests for support at this time. Thank you for your gracious understanding.
Battery Recycling on Hold
Until further notice, IKEA has suspended our FREE Battery recycling service. This is due to the challenges of a new regulation issued by the US Department of Transportation (US DOT) regarding the transport of batteries. For more information on this new regulation and how it affects ALL battery recycling, please visit: www.phmsa.dot.gov/hazmat/regs/rulemaking/final
Souther California Edison Partnership
At IKEA Covina, conserving the environment is important to us. We share many of the same environmental goals as our partners at Southern California Edison.
That’s why we are participating in a program to help decrease the environmental impact of generating electricity. By lowering our energy use, we’re also doing our part to maintain grid reliability.
So if the lights seem a little lower, or the temperature feels a tad warmer, it’s because we’re helping the community work toward a greener future.
