IKEA wants you to choose a local charity to receive an IKEA makeover of a space that helps them to improve the lives of others in our community. After all, being a good neighbor is not only good business, but it’s also just the right thing to do. Since 2011, over 120 local charities have received over $1 million in IKEA products, design expertise, and manpower.

You can vote once a day until March 2, 2015.
1 LEDARE bulb = $1 to help refugees live brighter, safer lives
Brighter Lives for Refugees
For every LEDARE LED light bulb sold from February 1 to March 28, 2015, the IKEA Foundation will donate $1* to the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR).

Today, there are nearly 11.7 million refugees around the world – about half of which are children. They find safety and shelter at UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) camps. But the lack of light in many camps can have a devastating effect on their safety, education prospects and income.

The funds will help improve access to lighting, renewable energy and primary education in refugee camps in Ethiopia, Sudan, Chad, Bangladesh and Jordan – improving those communities for the children and families who live there.
