IKEA Eat for FREE weekend offer
Buy a soft toy, IKEA Foundation donates $1 to fund education projects.
For every soft toy, children’s books and card games purchased from Sunday, November 1 thru Saturday, December 26, 2015, IKEA will donate $1 to UNICEF and Save the Children to provide children with access to quality education.

You may also choose to Double Your Impact and donate a purchased soft toy or children’s book to a local charity, Project Night Night.
Project Night Night provides free Packages to homeless children who need our childhood essentials to have a concrete and predictable source of security during this time of upheaval. Each Night Night Package contains a new security blanket, an age-appropriate children's book, and a stuffed animal -- all nestled inside of a new canvas tote bag.

The “give twice” box can be found just past the cash registers.

Since 2003, the Soft Toys for Education campaign has raised $102 million and reached more than 11 million children through 99 projects in 46 countries for UNICEF and Save the Children to train teachers, improve child-protection systems, provide educational materials, and increase school attendance in some of the world’s poorest communities.

IKEA is all-in for cotton from more sustainable sources
As of September 1, 2015 – all cotton used in the future production of IKEA products will come from more sustainable sources.

Cotton from more sustainable sources means that the cotton is grown with less water, less chemical fertilizer and less pesticides, while increasing profit margins for farmers leading to a better quality of life for their families, including schooling for their children through our collaborations with UNICEF and Save the Children.

Cotton is an important raw material for IKEA, used in many products, from sofas to towels. However, when grown conventionally, cotton farming uses large amounts of chemicals and water, raising costs and making it harder for farmers to earn a living. This milestone is part of a long journey to help transform the cotton industry. In 2010, IKEA together with the conservation organization WWF and other leading public and private organisations helped set up the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI).
