Swedish Midsummer is celebrated in parts of the world as the longest day of the year. In the northern parts of Sweden, the sun actually never sets and there is daylight both night and day.
In many respects, Midsummer Eve is an eating and drinking feast. Appetite builds when dancing around the midsummer pole so when the herring, snaps, sour cream with chopped chives and boiled potatoes in dill is served, it sure taste good!
