(Conshohocken, PA – November 29, 2011) It’s the time of the year again for celebrations, good laughs and gastronomic pleasures. IKEA, the Life Improvement Store, invites consumers to join in a fun Swedish tradition and enjoy the IKEA Julbord buffet, an all-you-can-eat holiday smorgasbord that will be hosted in the restaurants at all IKEA stores on Friday, December 9. For only $9.99 per person or $2.49 for kids 12 and under, guests can enjoy an endless meal of traditional Swedish food offerings such as Swedish holiday ham, smoked salmon, Swedish style meatballs with lingonberries, and much more.

Julbord is the standard Christmas dinner in Scandinavian countries. Julbord is a word consisting of the elements “Jul,” meaning Yule (synonymous with Christmas) and “Bord,” literally table. The classic Swedish Julbord is the highlight of Swedish cuisine and is eaten in three courses. The dishes include local and family specialties, beginning with typically a variety of fish as the first course, cold sliced meats such as ham as the second course, and warm dishes such as Swedish meatballs as the third course.
