Step by step guide

Shopping for furniture online is as easy as shopping in the IKEA store. First, use the drop-down menu to select a furnishings category. In this example, we select “chairs and stools.”

Now select a specific product category work and visitor chairs.

Here’s the list of all work and visitor chairs. Now we’ll click on the LYDER chair to see product details.

Here’s the LYDER chair product page. The price appears near the center of the page. Some products have options and colours to select in drop-down menus just below the product. Notice that there are also links to additional information on this page. These include an option to “check stock availability” in your local store.

How to purchase an item online

If you prefer to purchase the item online, click the orange-coloured “add to shopping cart” button.

The shopping cart icon in the upper right corner of the screen will open the “shopping cart items” window. This window displays all the items in your cart.

You can save, e-mail, or print a list by clicking the icons at the bottom of the screen. Click “shopping cart overview” to see your shopping cart and review product options.

Shopping cart overview allows you to review product options and make changes. You may also wish to print this page for your records.

Checking out

Check-out involves five easy steps. Step #1: sign in to our secure server. Click the “Forgot your password” link if you want us send you your password via e-mail.

If you’re a new customer, you must first create an IKEA website profile, and choose a username and password.

Step #2: After signing in, select a shipping method and shipping address. If you billing and shipping address are not the same, you will be sent to a page allowing you to enter a separate billing address (in step #4).

Step #3: Review your shipping address and order information. If you need to change anything, use the “edit and “update” links.

Step #4: select a payment method. New customers must enter their credit card information. You can choose to have us save this information for your next visit. To edit this information in future, click “update credit card information.”

Step #5: Confirm that your shipping, billing and order information are correct. To make changes, click the “edit” link. This is your last chance to make changes before placing your order. When you’re ready, go ahead and click the “PLACE THIS ORDER” button.

Once you have placed your order, you’ll see the printable “order confirmation” page which displays all your order information, including your order number. IKEA will send you an e-mail confirmation of your order within 12 hours.
